French death metal outfit Gojira has announced that they are currently recording a new EP, which is to be released in download format later this year. All money made from the release, will go to the ocean conservation society Sea Shepherd. Stay tuned for further information.

I saw a video about this on Blabbermouth. The sea shepherd is a group that tries to stop the killing of whales. So Gojira is writing an album for the creatures of the sea. Dethklok already did this with the Dethwater album, lol. For real though this is awesome! Gojira=Totallys Brutal

While its a good cause i guess, ive never been a fan of people annoucing to the world or to their friends that theyre giving to a charity or cause.....cut a check, tell the organization to keep it anonymous, feel good about it, walk away....the only people you need to tell is the IRS to get a tax break...none the less props to the band for giving....

Yer posts crack me up HR \m/! I will never give up my Sirius or Flesh cds. Two of 5 CD's I've actually purchased since my What.CD account got shut down a year and a half ago. Obzen, Lazarus Bird, and Maylene and The Sons latest (the name escapes me) being the other 3! However my priorities, should I ever find myself in a band that can raise awareness and promote a cause, would be rooted more in the promotion of humankind and it's hurdles. Cancer, AIDS, ALS, MS, the list goes on.
Don't tease me RTB I have been known to travel great distances for some dead animal flesh! Elk is by far the tastiest to be found! Hopefully the Sea Sheppard never finds the Nebraska Wild Turkey or Whitetail Deer a worthy species to crash into the side of my Durango to preserve :D

well i will just say im f***in stoked for new Gojira! I like their sound more than lyrical content im not a lyrics guy i think most the time its just some dumbass egomaniac pissing in the wind saying hes the band. Gojira is not the case with that. They are similar in mastodon where ya know what ur gettin a quality cd with good instruments. they are all about sound and qualit so i say f***ing awesome! As for saving the whales thats a good cause they ae vital to our ecosystem and with no ecosystem there is no metal but im pretty sure gojira is makin a hefty little cut somewhere for this album and they might give 1 to 2 bucks per cd to charity i dont think its all bent out of shape like everyones making it. They are not f***in U2! thats and idea Whale-Aid to save the whales lol. Oh and i dont know where the dude that made the comment about shark is from but its pretty b****in when u make it right it has a natural spice to it like no other and is quite badass in stew or chowder!
