yeah, typical rocker story. ''i came from a place, i grew up, became a rock star, went through crazy sh**, now i'm alive''. so i guess i can say i've already read it. pretty predictable you can say but i'm sure it'll be an interesting read.

Cant wait to see what he says about the break up of pantera..."excrutiating back surgery" was his reason, or atleast 1 of them....the guy was a junkie, derailed and was the main reason why they split up in the 1st place....now if he says something along the lines of that, then finally he fessed up, if he doesnt then he' s still in denial....that would be one reason why i'd browse the book.....the other would be does he feel guilty at all about the death of dime....

i agree that ol phil was pretty blown out at the time RT...he really didn't seem all too into pantera after (or even during) trendkill, and seemed to drift away from the abbotts...then came a media war, and who can even begin to guess in what context certain comments were made....ya know what I mean?

i don't think its fair to even wonder if the guy feels guilty about what happened to D...what conjcture a sociopathic human failure deludes himself into believing is worth killing over is not anselmo's responsibility....

even so, from what i've heard expressed from him since...i would almost guarantee that the dude feels absolutely rueful for his part in the rift and the fact that there can not be any reconciliation between them two all these Earthly days....

but what the hell do I know? we'll just have to see what the dude has to say...

Ya i see that RAT, but alot of anselmo fans tend to forget that and try to spin it a different way....i ve always thought he was the main reason of the split(again stressing main, not thee) i just thought i missed something as far as their being another significant reason for the break up......prediction, anselmo and vinnie paul will never talk again, take it to the bank...
Good take btw HR

seriously, i'm extremely fortunate that she thinks as little of the antiquated institution of legal marriage as i do, and that she ain't all too fond of the dreaded nagg...iif she does do it, i tell her 'hey, TRY not to bother me TOO much'
which always cracks her up...

ya might try it brother.... through the LOCKED bathroom door of course ;)

hey, and happy Wobbly Wednesday to ya! i'll send you a cheers when i crack open a crisper this evening...

This interview is excellent and it's so f***ing incredible how dedicated Phillip is to his music!!! I am so f***ing relieved that he and Rita have finally made peace, and hope that he and Vince can do the same sometime very soon!!!! What happened to Dime(R.I.P.) was in no way Phillip's fault!!! This man has brought and continues to bring us so much excellent music that has helped me make it through and conquer my addiction. If it wasn't for the music he has created and helped bring to this world I would not have made it through the hard times of my life, nor would I be able to continue to make it through them. I have had the privilege and honor to see the man perform way more times than I can count with 4 different bands and he is the best frontman that has ever lived, A TRUE LIFER ON ALL LEVELS!!!! Phillip, Thank You very f***ing much for all you have done, and for what you will bring us in the future!!!! I can't wait for the new DOWN, ARSON ANTHEM, EYEHATEGOD, CROWBAR, the rest of the HOUSECORE RECORDS releases (The release of "13th Century Luciferian Rites"), to see you on the road, and of course your Autobiography!!!

Not sure what that means. Phil blamed Dime and Vinnie for the breakup so Nathan(?) shot Dime and that's Phil's fault? I hope I misread or misunderstood your point but it's silly if that's the way you see it.

Guilty meaning if he hadnt been a junkie and overdramatic, caused problems with his drinking, and fled to his own private island of denial which again, was a big reason why they split up in the 1st place, they re may not have been a damage plan, and or shooting, and who knows, DB might still be alive today....why do you think vinnie paul has and will never speak to phil?....sour grapes? Obviously rex sees things differently, idk his train of thought but whatever....
No i m not pinning DB' death all on phil, but i think its silly to portray phil as some poor victim in the matter of the split of the group.... so why not question his conscious?.....food for thought...

Got mixed feelings about this one.

I hate Anselmo almost as much as Mustaine, but still, It'd be interesting to see his side of the Pantera story, plus I still love my Pantera albums and wishing they'd be around, so I guess I will have to check this one out.

I'd imagine the first 10 pages will set the tone for the entire book so if the angle is "I am a legend, I am the greatest", then the 10 pages will be enough for me.

As for the forthcoming Mustaine story, needless to say that I will pass.

I guess I understand where yer coming from RTB. I'm not a Phil fanboi by any stretch but sh** happens between folks and blaming (not that you are) Phil for some nutjob's twsted delusion seems a stretch. Phil's f***ed up and has alot of issues for sure but laying any of the shooting at his feet rubs me the wrong way. I dig his vocals and pay to see him when I can but most musicians do stupid sh** that effects their bands and the lucky ones live to regret it and see it for what it was and try to make amends or move on. The only part of the book that'd be interesting to me is his thoughts o the break up and the shooting. Like most have already speculated, Phil's pretty f***ed up and has a pretty bizarre perspective on most sh** so I doubt I'd pay money for the book.
