Trivium Reveals New Drummer, Nick Augusto

Florida based heavy metal outfit Trivium has announced that their long time friend Nick Augusto has been hired as the permanent replacement for former drummer Travis Smith. A statement from frontman Matt Heafy reads:
"We’re really happy to have our good friend and fellow Floridian Nick Augusto join the Trivium family. Nick’s drumming is very technical and diverse and he brings a real intense energy to the band and we can’t wait for everyone to hear the new song, ‘Shattering the Skies Above', that we just recorded with Nick. I think it’s the best Trivium recording we’ve ever done; it’s raw, full of energy and I think Nick’s drumming really pushed us to a new level."

This f***in' sucks. He was one of my favorite drummers and a really cool guy. To answer post #1, one reason why he stopped touring with them is cuz he recently got married. It sucks because he's pretty much the one who started the band. He asked Matt to play with and he introduced Matt to bands like Pantera, Megadeth, Slayer, and others. I still have the autographed floor tom head I caught from him when they played with Slipknot last year. I wish him nothing but the best. STAY METAL MY FRIENDS!

i just heard about this nick character from paolo's teacher's wife, who works here at my job. she says, according to damien, who was paolo's (bassist) teacher, the nick's an amazing drummer and he also knows him vry well from back when he (nick) and paolo were in metal militia. i trust damien's opinion, that guy's been around since the birth of metal lol his wife just left my office telling me that she doesn't know what happened with travis but supposedly they're (trivium) keeping quiet about it kuz paolo hasn't mentioned anything to damien (his teacher). i will deepily miss travis kuz he was one of my fav drummers as well. let's just see how does nick guy sounds.

Ahhh... I dont know anything about the new drummer, but i wonder what happened with Travis they haven't said anything about why he left. I wonder if his ankle injury was bad enough to where he couldn't do it anymore. Travis was my favorite part of Trivium and he will be missed
