Tribal metal group Soulfly will be entering the studio to record their seventh album by December, frontman Max Cavalera has stated. In a recent interview with Fangoria he was asked about how new material is coming along and what the band have planned as far as the next album is concerned. He responded as follows:

"Little by little. Right now we’re just getting some of the ideas together with some of the songs I composed while on tour over the past two years. We’ve got bits and pieces, lot’s of riffs and things, but we’ll begin seriously working on it at the beginning of November when we get off the road. We’ll get right into the studio and start recording.

"Recording will be November and December, so it should be the beginning of next year. That’s about how long it’ll take to get the mixing, mastering, and artwork done. We’re recording in California this time, and it will be mixed in England. Once all the parts are in place we’ll set a release date. It’s still a little bit of time."

You and me both wilco....i cant RIP until that happends....dont see it happening in the near future, but i believe it will...my all time favorite band is the original sepultura and its depressing to see a bunch of scab performers using that same name to portray one of the best metal acts in the last 30 years

I don't know how many times I've said it but I'll say it again, there's nothing wrong with the lineup Sepultura has now. I reckon people are only slagging them off because they use the Sepultura name. An example I've often used here is Napalm Death. They have no original members left but people don't seem to have a problem with them. With the exception of Against, I don't think Sepultura has put out a bad album with Derrick Green. To further that, I thought "A-Lex" was their best album since "Chaos A.D." I can't get enough of that record.

Another thing worth mentioning is that there are plenty of people who say that Sepultura would have been a better band if Max stayed, but often the same people turn around and talk about how bad Soulfly sucks, which is a contradiction in and of itself. I think if Max had stayed, people would be talking about Sepultura the same way they talk about Metallica. I love Sepultura and I really like Soulfly, so in the end, you've got two great bands to listen to now.
