Gene Simmons Speaks On New KISS Album

Band Photo: Kiss (?)
In a recent interview with Ohio's QFM96, Gene Simmons spoke a little about the new KISS record and what to expect from the album. Simmons states:
"It's the first studio album in 11 years. You can't force those things - it's in your blood and it's happening. I have to say, this might be the best new record we've done since Destroyer. In fact it has a similar sound; Rock And Roll Over meets Love Gun sounding record. That's coming out in September/Octrober and then we will be doing a 60-city American tour."

Kiss is rock...at best..they seemed to have great stage presence via dvd shows during the 70s, but i think they have lost touch with music in genera since..i mean they were on american idol for god sakes, can any of their fans take them seriously anymore especially after that stunning apperance?
Gene's got plenty of money and has shannon tweed,....hang em up

KISS is rock AND metal. i would say they are a rock n roll band that sometimes plays metal, and has also made entire metal albums, such as "animalize". to those people who say KISS is not metal: go listen to "animalize" and see what i mean. it will melt your face off!

they aren't a band anymore they're a corporation. They sell fvcking lunchboxes and comic books for crying out loud. They didn't 'wright the book' BLACK SABBATH wrote the book. They were the ones who first played the "Devil's Note'. I dislike KISS so much it's not even funny...
N.P-Setherial-Endtime Divine
great obscure black metal \m/

Post 15: You don't know mhd or his taste in music; you can't just say someone has overall sh!tty taste just cuz he doesn't like one band that you do.
I for one like Kiss, and yeah, albums are made for the cash; big deal. As long as the music sounds good, that's all that truly matters. Gene says: "In fact it has a similar sound; Rock And Roll Over meets Love Gun sounding record." I don't know what to expect out o' this, but I must admit that I'm quite curious. Gene isn't great, but I think it's worth it to put out the album for the work of the other members. Especially Paul; he's the heart of Kiss. Plus I do believe it was Paul who said that it would be a great opportunity for the guys who play with em to be given the chance to perform in the studio. I don't see the harm in that.

KISS is a phenomenon.
KISS helped define the early understanding of what Heavy Metal was in the 1970s and 1980s. Just because new bands came along with a harder, faster, more technical metal sound, it didn't change the influence and definition of Heavy Metal they helped begin. They clearly have hard, fast driving songs that can't be labeled as anything but Metal. Listen to the Revenge album. Sure, they have some plain rock, rock & roll, and even some girlie ballads. They fall into a lot of categories and always have over the years. It's given them a broad appeal.
KISS is more than a band, they have evolved into the amazing marketing machine that they are. They have been one of the smartest bands financially taking what they made doing music into other areas to help them gain exposure and profit. Coffins and condems. Amazing, who else is doing that? To some it may seem hokey and kind of like a sell out, but I say, "good for them." I wish I had a 100 million dollars.
Anyways. That's my 2 cents. I hope they do a good job on the new album gain a whole new generation of fans. In any case, I'll always listen to KISS. There is no band like them IMHO.

I used to be a huge fan of this band. Kiss is Kiss. You can love them or you can hate them - but you can't get rid of them. Kiss are from an era when legends were made. Who would have thought back in the 70's that bands like Kiss, Stones, Led Zep, Rush, etc... would still be performing and selling out stadiums almost 40 years later ? Who will remember 'bullet for my valentine' 10 years from now ? Many bands come and go - legends never die ! Sounds good ??? Guess again - cause they'll all burn in hell if they don't repent from their sins and receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (Romans 6:23). Like Alice Cooper says - '' It's cool to be a christian.''

What a bunch of losers... not Kiss, the people wasting their lives hatin' on the band. What do YOU care what Kiss does? And why should Kiss care what you think? Last I checked, this is America and Kiss can do any damn thing they please. If they want to make money off a new album, God bless'em. If they want to make money off Kiss condoms, God bless'em. If they're a bunch of media whores who'll do anything for press, well welcome to America! That was a staple of Hollywood long before any of Kiss were even born. Geez, it's their first in eleven years, and some of you bozos are acting like they do this every year or something. Kiss cares about its FANS, and the

kiss rules-under what context? I haven't been laid yet, yes, I'll admit that....'cause I'm 17 fvcking years old and I'm SMART about life! and what do YOU think is good music? I'd probably think what you like is sh!t, but I'm not being an a$$hole about it. And saying things like that without backing it up makes people loose respect from me(I mean, if they even had any)...Did you just see the Setherial thing and thought, 'he likes black metal, the douch'. I don't call people a$$holes because of their music tastes. I was just putting out my opinion. Now fvck off.
