"Corey Taylor... Probably the most bad a$$ musician ever"
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
I'm not sure about this one actually BG, I went in 2005 and had a good time but since then I've criticised the festival for it's lineup and oranisation. I quite like the look of this lineup though with the exception of Pendulum and Dragonforce. If they get some more good bands on the bill then I'll think about going but money's a real issue right now. As I've said many times, I'm an unashamed Limp Bizkit fan so I'd love to see them if they're on the bill, but at the same time I'm sure they'll be bottled and pelted and have their set ruined by the crowd so there doesn't seem to be much point.

Saw Limp Bizkit with Sevendust while they toured for their first album. Have to say Limp Bizkit was rather, well, limp. No crowd interaction. Not much of a stage presence. Didn't even bother to try to get the crowd going or introduce songs. Sevendust however were at the top of their game and really came out with a bang. Got everyone very pumped, whole place was shaking. Not saying whose music was better, just that Sevendust really put on a show, while Limp Bizkit acted like they didn't even want to be there. Don't think I'd pay to see them again.

Oz: That's why I asked (LB). I also wanted to see if Slipknot was any good across the pond. I heard from Irish Metal that they were great when he saw them recently. From my own experience and what i've heard through the grapevine their performance and stage show stateside recently has been... Fvcking lame.

When i saw Slipknot in montreal it was simply, how do i put this?...... the worst show ive ever seen! corey was hammered and falling all over the place, the guy couldnt keep in line with music at all, it was like it was his 1st time playing together, d***nose did nothing the whole show but hang from a rafter in the ceiling and head bang, no instrumentals what so ever, clown that moron bashed his head on a big drum all night, it was just really sh**ty im afraid, I 2 once heard that they were amazing live so i gave them a try, worst mistake/concert ever.

Oz: I am speaking specifically about this tour. I'm just curious as to what the correlation is. I trust Irish's judgement, but it just chapps my a$$ that I paid to see them here and they were horrible and yet across the pond they kick a$$.
KanadianKoRn: I have to concur. I will never pay to see them again. Luckily, the Mayhem Fest had much more to offer or i'd REALLY be pi$$ed.

Throwing in my two cents: When I saw LB on the Sanitarium Tour in MN, Deftones didn't make it because Chino pulled his grundle (groin), but LB was actually really good. Smith was their guitarist so I didn't see them with Wes, but Fred managed to be all over the stadium, even leaving the stage to run through the crowd to the other side to do Behind Blue Eyes. I must admit, I enjoyed it. Metallica killed everyone though.

Corey taylor? really? i mean he doesnt even write slipknot songs joey jordison does...i dont think thats who i would name if was gonna go for bad a$$ musicians. i would go for Mikael Åkerfeldt, or Karl Sanders, Chuck SchuldinerObsidian C, Fredrik Thordendal, Marten Hagstrom and Tomas Haake, Heri Joensen, Ihsahn, or Jon Schaffer but definitally not corey taylor. he might be an ok vocalist or maybe even a pretty good one. but he's not bad ass

Yeah, Mikael Ackerfeldt is an amazing band leader. From everything I see of him it seems he's his own harshest critic. Total perfectionist.
I saw Metallica when they fronted Lollapalooza and have to say it was a great show. Except for Lars in his little Richard Simmons shorts. Despite what I might think about their more recent releases James is still a great frontman. They were on the spot with everything.
I was glad too because Screaming Trees played not long before them and were the worst live band I've ever seen. I like their music, but the show was terrible. Seemed like the whole band was plastered except for Mark Lannegan.

Well, I saw slipknot here in florida during mayhem, and i had heard they were horrible live, and I didnt expect much o fhteir music in a live setting anyway, but they not only impressed me, but also my friend who hated the band even before he listened to metal, so i could say they did pretty well down here.
Then again, I had a lass on my d*** their entire set, so any band would sound good in that situation lol
Post 14 gets 6 thumbs up in my book.
