Robert Plant Issues Official Statement: No Led Zeppelin Reunion Tour

Band Photo: Led Zeppelin (?)
Robert Plant has denied rumours that Led Zeppelin is set to tour next year, releasing a statement stating that the he will not be touring or recording with the band.
In the statement the singer said that following his current tour with Alison Krauss he will not be touring with any band or project for at least two years.
Last week (September 26) it was claimed that Plant had agreed to a Led Zeppelin tour.
However, the singer's statement read: "It's both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward.
"I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects."

Robert Plant's voice just isn't the same as back in the day and he knows it. He has some real trouble hitting the higher register songs consistantly. I think that is why they do those one off special gigs, but an actual tour would be out of the question for him.

thank you. I'm 19....I wasn't raised on Zep, nor did I experience them live, go get their latest released album on drop dates, simply because it's before my time. when make the statement "i don't like led zep" people are in shock and abhor the statement....but seriously I can't stand the sh**

I love Led Zeppelin and am unfortunate to be too young to ever experience them live and in their prime. I have to agree with post 1. I'm actually glad that Plant is not going to tour and hopefully keeps the rest of the band from touring as Led Zeppelin as well. It's like when Ray Manzarek tried to get some Doors "reunion" thing going a while back and that just seemed like a sad attempt to relive some good memories regardless of what intentions they may have had. Not to deny any of you who would like to see these guys play those songs now, but I think it's for the best.

NO ONE CAN REPLACE JIM MORRISON !!!!!!!!!!!!!! As for the news, I knew something like this would happen, I mean, we've all been informed that Robert wasn't up for the gigs anymore : a person just doesn't change their mind like that, so this doesn't shock me. But, I'm still worried about the band touring without em...

They should just get the guy from Into Eternity to replace Robert Plant. I've said it once, I'll say it again; BEST. SINGER. EVER. Don't believe me? listen to their song Timeless WInter and tell me otherwise. f***in sh** my pants when I heard all 4 of his singing voices.

Robert Plant is just a b**** now. He knows he sounds horrible now. Like come on if anyone heard their gig in December they will agree with me. He has lost it, but that should not matter, people will still pay big bucks to see the legendary Led Zeppelin. I have seen every band I want to see other then Zeppelin and hearing all these rumors got my hopes up, now they got crushed. So, f*** Plant and f*** Allison Kraus. I say Page JPJ and Bonham do their own thing. It obviously wouldn't be the same but it would still be something.

I've changed my mind about wanting to see S&M Zeppilin(Apparently Page is into Handcuffs&Whips-I wasn't aware of how Kinky J.P.is)Now all I can see in my mind is Jimmy Page hancuffing some poor dumb groupie to the desk in his 500+nite suite& getting out the lash(& something else I don't dare mention)How wierd is that?I like to have fun but I draw the line with pain/pleasure(me experiencing pain for another man's pleasure)He's a sick puppy!

Path, you do have a good point. Zep, wants to tour and give millions of fans a chance to experiance them live. With the exception of, Plant. For what reason? Only the gods know. You have got me thinking that perhaps supporting Bonham, Jones, and Paige would be the least I could do. They are a worthy group, and Bonham, is one heck of a son for hounring his father's legacy.

Well. . . he's deifnitely not in it for the money. I dont know whats worse though. Giving up millions for the p***y, or giving up the p***y for millions. We all know whats won out here with Plant, us males are stupid. We come out of that hole at birth and spend the rest of our lives trying to get back into it.

Ok robert plant seriously needs to get his head on strait....He refuses to have one last blowout tour for the best band that ever lived. Sure it wont be the same without bonham but it would still be amazingly nice to see 3 outa 4 and not 2 outa 4. Honestly without robert rite now the tour would fail cuz who the hell would want to see dee sneider? he freging sucks... And would your really rather tour with allison kraus(yea thanks for killing zep ass) or go out with the best band that ever lived

I saw Zeppelin in Sydney, 1972. The sheer power was an assault on your senses.....not for the faint-hearted. Page, Plant, Bonham and Jones were brilliant in their own unique way; integral to a super band that spawned from the Yardbirds. Can the power, sexuality and brilliance be repeated forty years on? In my mind, Zeppelin will always remain encapsulated in a bygone era which today's generation will never know, experience or appreciate....they can only dream.
No Plant, no Bonzo, no Zeppelin.
