World Wrestling Entertainment has announced that Metallica will be providing the theme song for their upcoming pay per view, No Mercy. The song chosen is "All Nightmare Long" from the bands latest album, "Death Magnetic." So far only two matches have been confirmed for the event, namely a WWE championship match between Triple H and Jeff Hardy and a Womens championship match which will feature Beth Phoenix defending the title against Candice Michelle.

Because it's entertaining, it takes alot of skill. Why do people like tennis? Or cricket? Or MMA? Or baseball? sh**, even darts is televised over here and is viewed with respect. Wrestlers work amazingly hard and get next to no respect.

I'm a wrestling fan, have been my whole life and will continue to be 'cause I find it both entertaining and impressive.

I'm with Diamond Oz,

To all those who think wrestling is "fake" I'd like to see you take a shot to the head with a steel chair then get up and run around for 20 minutes with a gaping, bleeding hole in your forehead, taking more chair shots, get thrown on to a concrete floor, repeatedly, and still entertain the millions (and millions) of fans, and then tell me it's fake. If these people went to the gym and did a proper work out for just 2 hours a week, then maybe they'd apreciate the amount of work these guys and gals put in to entertaining us.

oh and don't start with the "the chairs aren't real chairs" or "the tables are made special" thing, I was sitting on a chair for ages till this guy pushed me off it to smack the other guy.

I used to be a huge WWE fan. I quit watching it because of the bad acting and all the people I liked left. I still respect them for what they do, I'd just rather watch UFC.

exactly!! bad acting and too much soap opera BS!! W.E.C. and U.F.C are way better than W.W.E. its real and even though wrestling has chairs and tables, in MMA the fighting is real, not rehearsed and scripted!! it may be entertaining, but so damn fake!!

Believe it or not, the majority of the match isn't cripted. They're told what the finish is and how long it should last, some of the big spots in the matches are planned by the wrestlers themselves but other than that, they wrestle as they go along.

I also have watched alot of wrasslin' but i stopped after the rock went to movies and Stone cold got hurt again. But recently some of the soap opera has gotten better. Basically it is just that a soap opera for men... and it is way better than watchin Lost or what ever crap reallity (FAKE) show is on tv.

im aware its a soap opera for men. i like w.e.c. and u.f.c. REAL FIGHTING!! NOT SAYING THAT THE WRESTLERS ARE NOT SKILLED IN WHAT THEY DO. just think its pretty freakin gay! they have talent and all, but talent to fake it! put these wrestlers in a cage fight and see how long they truly last with their talent in wrestling. im not trying to fight on this one. i used to love watching wrestling, then it became so freaking cheesy that my tv drowned in the cheese it was showing! lol

Well it's an interesting time to take a stance either way on this since Brock Lessnar is slated for a heavy weight title shot in the UFC in November and could conceivably hold the belt. I personally never liked wresting. The cheese factor (acting, costumes, etc.) and the fact that it's fake/scripted turned me off. The best MMA events are no frills, no bs. EliteXC learned from their first main network premeire that was filled with fluff and musical performances and appearances... The following one was much better and all about the fights and fighters.

i think lesnar has a good chance but i dont think he will take it. he has excellent wrestling skills, but his Jui Jitsu (not sure if spelling is correct) needs tons more work. i do understand he is new to mma and am not smacktalking him, but i think he will lose. i do think it will be one damn good fight either way it goes...

Actually branded you'd be suprised to hear brock has been wresting since his high school years. It may not be MMA style. But regardless, a takedown is a takedown.

im aware of his high school yrs. i have done lots of research. i actually am waiting for wed. night to see the ufc fight night and the new season of the ultimate fighter!! as for the coaches on this seasons series, i think frank mir will prolly take a good beatdown but take it in the end (meaning win the fight) between the coaches when they fight.

I wish I could watch ROH oh well. Not bad song the PPV is looking to be pretty good so far. HHH will probably beat Hardy but I'm glad their using him at the main event level. I started getting out of wrestling myself but I'm kind of getting back into it. also like my UFC

btw, the reason i say in a stand kimbo would win because shamrock cant take punches to the face. just look at all the fights where he was pounded in the face and crumpled like a piece of paper!! but on the ground shamrock has tons more skill!!

Definitely! Kimbo pulverizes his victims in hand to hand combat. On the other hand, Shamrock's grappling abilities are inhumane. Once, he has his target locked on, he's bound to win by submission. I honestly think Shamrock is going to struggle to take Kimbo down. My prediction is, Kimbo will be unleashing vicious straight jabs and he will miss a few then, Shamrock will try his best to take him down with an armlock. Who knows who will prevail? we'll have to wait and see.
