I didn't watch it but a big reason for bands/artists lip-syncing is so it doesn't hurt any sales. If someone watches a band and they totally blow it then it will hurt the record company and the band's sales. I don't know if there was lip-syncing in this video but that's a big reason why it happens.

Finally found the Shinedown/Leno video yesterday. Spent a lot of time looking and it's been removed from every site out there that had it or a link.
I love music from all genres whether it's Shinedown-Rock, Gary Allan-Country, and yes Michael Buble who always has it together and I could care less whether lipsynching was involved or not. Leno is a great opportunity for music to be seen by an audience outside the usual "singing to the choir/fans" most performers are used to. We all know Brent Smith can sing his a$$ off and has a great voice when not overworked. Vocal lead singers these days are overbooked and overworked to such a degree I'm surprised more do not leave performing behind sooner rather than later.
Shinedown has a great new cd out with great songs/lyrics from beginning to end and that is hard to come by these days. The Leno performance brought a great group of guys to the attention of music lovers who may have never had the chance to see them or for that matter even knew they and their music existed.
Thank you Shinedown for your music and Thank You Brent for all the effort you put forth with your writing and touring. It is appreciated!!
