Metallica has uploaded the brand new video for the song "The Day That Never Comes" online. You can check it out at their official website. The video is the first from the band's forthcoming new album, "Death Magnetic" which is set to receive a worldwide release date of September 12th and is the bands first album since 2003's controversial effort, "St. Anger."
The band comments on the new video:
"It's midnight here at HQ and we are incredibly proud to present you with the debut of "The Day That Never Comes" ...not so much the standard video fare, but what we like to think of as a short film."
"We were honored to work with acclaimed film director and fellow Dane Thomas Vinterberg, as our goal with this song was to step outside of the usual every day music video box and into to the world of film. As you may have see here earlier, we shot it outside of Los Angeles a month ago and we hope that you are as blown away by Thomas' vision as we are."
Update: this video is now on the other streaming video services, and embedded below for your viewing enjoyment.

At first I wondered why the start of the video wasn't a bit more intense, but later I realized that the way the situation was presented was good because that is how most striking things happen. I liked it.
I love the transition at 5:21 and the ending was well done! My favorite part was the harmony involved sometime between 5:46 and 6:03. Not to mention the sound quality was surprisingly good and the drums are doing better than I expected. I love Metallica :)

yea i agree, i like the idea of the video, but they way they did it was lacking something. It was like they just filmed 2 guys acting like soldiers, they at least couldve got a squad and computerized a big explosion...instead of filming two guys jumping from a sparkler

I have to say that was a pretty good video and makes me like the song even more. As opposed to most videos these days that I can hardly sit through, much less a full segment of Headbanger's Ball.
