Classic rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd hit the studio with Marilyn Manson guitarist John 5 for a collaboration that is sure to puzzle many fans.

Skynyrd is planning to release their first album since 2003's "Vicious Cycle" and John 5 is at the controls.

Guitarist Rickey Medlocke is keen to answer devotees who fear Manson's man is too heavy for Lynyrd Skynyrd.

He says, "Everybody thought, 'My god, you are going to write with this guy? How is that ever going to work?' But this guy came in and is really multi-talented in all genres."

Well if John 5 does add some heavier spice to Skynard, it will be interesting to hear how it comes out. My question is; how did John 5 and Skynard get together?

Do any of you guys listen to J5s solo albums? He has a lot of country songs on them. Its not a stretch of the imagination at all to put these guys togather.
