Lamb Of God To Enter The Studio To Record New Album In September

Band Photo: Metallica (?)
Metal Injection reports:
"Metal Injection correspondent Metal Nick, hit up the HALO OF LOCUSTS show in Baltimore this weekend, and managed to speak to vocalist Randy Blythe who also happens to be the vocalist of a little band you may have heard of called LAMB OF GOD.
"Randy spilled the beans that the band is heading into the studio in September to record the follow-up to Sacrament, which meant that he wouldn't be doing Halo for a while.
UPDATE: The validity of reports that Lamb of God turned down a tour with Metallica has been brought under question and the source of the story, Metal Injection, has removed these claims as well.

hmm...i think LoG are missing out on acquiring some new fans. A new album is at fault, tho, so it's understandable. I just hope it's better than NutSacrament. Redneck was a straight-up Pantera rip off. And the rest sounded like the cookie monster if he was really really upset.

LAMB OF GOD TURNED THEM DOWN!!! TOO FUKIN FUNNY, BUT GLAD TO SEE IT!!!!! guess lamb of god doesnt want to outdo metallica nightly on stage! and sacrament is a fuking killer cd!!! just because they tweaked a few things here and there with pro-tools doesnt make it any lesser of a cd, just makes the music sound better to the listener.

Lamb of God just keep steam rolling ahead...this is the band that I listen to when I get sh1t thrown at me at work....not literally, of course[lol]...it is just a great stress release..especially New American Gospel and As the Palaces Burn...straight up heavy sh1t!
LOG is one of my top bands right now.

If used correctly, pro tools shouldn't make a track sound fake. You're still recording like you always have (minus splicing, and what not). It just records faster, thus at a higher quality. It actually frees you up creatively too, I feel, because you can record, write, rerecord and experiment as it plays back. My problem with Sacrement is I think Randy used vox fx. May just be my ears.

Yeah, well I give them huge kudos for the fact that Sacrament really made them stand apart from the new American metal trend. They escaped the confines of the genre and really showed us all the talent they have but yet again for me it's the sound of it that I have a huge problem with, not the music itself.

You make a great point - Red. If you listen to As the Palaces Burn or even New American Gospel..you can clearly tell the difference between those 2 albums, and the last 2 albums LOG released. RAW is better, it has a more natural, organic sound...if that makes sense. One good example was earlier Soundgarden albums..such as Ultra Mega OK, and Bad Motor Finger. Those albums sound great. Flower and Louder than Love really sound raw and natural. As you can tell - I might like Soundgarden just a bit. :)

Yeah, I like nag for the balls out no subtlety sound, palaces is truly an amazing album. ashes of the wake is very good too, less raw but still very good. sacrament shows their great songwriting talent but in my view sounds too polished, sounds too perfect for me to fully enjoy. metal should always retain that rawness in it because metal is the greatest live music of em all. a great metal show sounds devastating live, heavy, raw, brutal.

LOG is terrible!!!! ahhahahahahahahhahaha.....you drones!! They sound like Old Metallica you f*cking idiots.....as if the gods of metal need these homos to open for them. I sawlog open for Slayer and they were terrible...why listen to a band that sounds like a bad bside bay area sh**house....hahahahahaha,,,,,want real music listen to the new Testament!

You're kidding right? If we have to say which band LOG is ripping off, it'd be Pantera buddy. I still don't see the fascination with them however. They were more unique in their NWOAHM days rather than the Southern/Groove they have going on now.
As for them turning down the tour, big deal. Metallica nor LOG need the other band to help cement their places in the metal world. Metallica will still sell out $100+ ticket shows and LOG is doing well filling Arenas and smaller venues across the world.

To Lamb of Piss - I am going to see Testament this month, but guess what, I couldn't care fukkin' less! I am going to see Judas Priest, Heaven and Hell, as well as, Motorhead. Thrash is trash in my book.
Testament is NOTHING special. I heard Megadeth LIVE twice, and I am already sick of them. The best thrash I have heard is from Anthrax or Sepultura. I guess I am growing up too. LOG imitating early-metallica, what the hell are you smoking? I agree with Focus - LOG is closer to Pantera's sound. You should listen to A Perfect Murder - they are trying to be just like PANTERA..but still kick major a$$. Those Canadians know how to throwdown!

ive only recently bought the killadelphia dvd/cd thing. what a crazy f***er randy blythe is. he sure gets his a$$ kicked my mark. their live album is probably one of the best sound quality-wise ive heard from most live albums. it almost sounds like it was a studio recording....my suspicions are aroused, and thats not the only thing thats aroused........
im looking forward to hearing the next album they produce.
