Stonegard Signs To Indie Recordings For Wider Release of "From Dusk Till Doom"

Indie Recordings has announced the signing of Norwegian metallers, Stonegard.

Stonegard has spent their first years in Scandinavia touring heavily and opening for mastodons like Black Sabbath, Korn, Slipknot, Motorhead and System Of A Down. When their debut, "Arrows," came out in 2005, it was by many described as "The best Norwegian metal debut of all times." "Arrows" became a success, selling more than 7,000 copies in Scandinavia alone.

Their second album, "From Dusk Till Doom," has so far reached 5,000 in Scandinavia and for the European release they have upgraded the album with a new mix, re-recorded guitars and bass and brought in none other than Ted Jensen (Slipknot/ Machine Head) for the mastering. Produced and recorded by Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames/Meshuggah), mixed by Stamos Koliousis/Vangelis Labrakis (Mencea/Superpsychics) their new record features nine killer, unique and diverse songs. The album also includes a bonus CD containing previously unreleased material, such as demo-tapes, video-clips, and more.

Come November, Stonegard will embark on a monster-tour as special guests to Enslaved. The VERTEBRAE TOUR 08 will run through all of Europe.

In a press statement the band comments the signing and the upcoming album:

"It's great to finally get signed to Indie Recordings. We have been looking for a way to work together with this label for quite a while now. Their long experience in exporting Norwegian bands is no doubt what we need at this point in our career. Not to mention they are good friends of ours, and we couldn't be happier with the cooperation."

You can check out some of the band's material on their MySpace page.
