Otep To Headline New West Coast Dates On "Circus Of Democracy" Tour, New DVD To Be Filmed

KOCH Records recording artist OTEP is set to bring its searing live show on the road once again. Headlining new west coast dates on the Circus of Democracy tour to promote "The Ascension," the band’s latest album. OTEP will release a new live DVD in early 2009, which will be filmed on select dates on this leg of the tour.

Otep Shamaya is making a name for herself outside of music, as not only a singer, but also activist, actress, and writer. She has filmed segments for several top-rated TV shows, including HBO’s DEF POETRY, Bravo’s DATE MY EX and most recently TLC’s hit show L.A. Ink.

Shamaya also finds time to be a vocal and committed activist for such causes as Equal Rights, Victims Rights, Darfur, Hurricane Katrina, Myanmar, Rock The Vote, PETA, RAINN, and All Shapes & Sizes.

The confirmed west coast tour dates for OTEP with special guests DROID (Emotional Syphon Recordings) and KOCH Recording artists ANEW REVOLUTION:

July 29 – RENO, NV – CLUB UNDERGROUND
July 30 – BOISE, ID – THE BIG EASY
August 01 – SPOKANE, WA – THE BIG EASY
August 02 – PORTLAND, OR – ROCK N' ROLL PIZZA
August 03 – SEATTLE, WA – EL CORAZON
August 05 – MODESTO, CA – FAT CAT
August 06 – ORANGEVALE, CA – THE BOARDWALK
August 07 – SAN FRANCISCO, CA – THE 12 GALAXIES

More tour dates to be added shortly.

Two new OTEP tracks can be currently downloaded on iTunes: “Special Pets” and “Necessary Accessories.” These tracks were previously only available on special versions of "The Ascension."
