Profound Lore Records has announced the signing of Dutch classic metal band, The Devil's Blood for a North American release.
The band plans to enter the studio late July to record an EP to be released in the fall before the band’s debut full-length, which is to be released during the first half of 2009. The press release goes on to describe the band and their planned recording activities:

"Channeling their chaos through a means of being inspired by atmospherically crafted vintage ‘70s classic psych/prog rock with the aesthetic audial aura of such revered cult-acts as ROKY ERICKSON, COVEN, BLACK SABBATH, BUDGIE, BLACK WIDOW, JEFFERSON AIRPLANE, and BLUE CHEER, and classic/vintage horror theater/cinema, The Devil’s Blood unleash their magic through a vibrant a celebration of life, sex, death, and decay.

"This special act, nonetheless, have already made quite a striking impression through filth and mire. With demo tracks already unveiled via their myspace page, along with their recent (and very first) rituals performed this past April at this year’s Roadburn festival and a special Walpurgis Night ritual even more recently, along with their recently released “Graveyard Shuffle” 7” (released via the band’s European label, Ván Records, in which we’ll have copies for sale as well very soon), we here at Profound Lore plan on helping build even more awareness for The Devil’s Blood, on these cursed shores.

"The current situation surrounding The Devil’s Blood is the band will ride the current wave of the exquisite aforementioned 7” just released and will enter the studio late July to record a special EP to be released in the fall. All this leading to the pending buildup of the band’s debut full-length to be released during the first half of 2009."
