MÖTLEY CRÜE will launch a world tour, in support of their new album, The Dirt, on July 4th.
In an online post, drummer Tommy Lee also commented on his status in the group, stating, "Nope! I never quit! Silly rumors! We're all together! We're goin' on a world tour starting July 4th!"
As previously reported, Mötley Crüe has set a July 8th release date for The Dirt, their ninth studio album. The first single from the new album is expected to impact radio on May 7th.
The new album is based on The Dirt: Confessions Of The World's Most Notorious Rock Band, the 448-page tome which catalogues the drug and alcohol abuse, nasty infighting, and sex parties of Vince Neil, Tommy Lee, Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx.
A film version of the book is expected to be released this year by Paramount and MTV. It's been billed as a true-life version of This Is Spinal Tap.
Mötley Crüe was formed in 1981 and, as one of the best-selling hard rock heavy metal acts, have sold 50-million albums worldwide.

Hopefully Tommy realizes that his manager work's for him and not the other way around.(what a jack ass)Anyway I look forward to the movie and album. Is it true that Johnny Knoxville will be playing Niki Sixx? I heard it was either him or one of the other Jack Asses.

I'm not looking forward to the movie at all. No doubt I'll end up watching it though. Is it true that Ozzy Osbourne will be played by Christopher Walken? That's what I've heard.
As far as the world tour goes, I like Motley Crue but I can't decide whether I can actually be arsed to shell out money to see them.

Time for me to learn something new. Since douchebag isn't a word used much over our fair isles, what does it mean?
I view Motley Crue as part of rock/metal history. As I said I like them but I'm not gonna regard them as gods or anything like that. Very few bands deserve extremely high praise. Being one of the bigest bands from the glam scene they were seminal in that part of rock and also, were a big part in pissing off the guys that decided/knew that metal wasn't about posing and big hair and the like and so as a backlash to glam, thrash grew.

A douchebag is a piece of equipment used to cleanse vaginas, don't ask me how it works. And to worship the crue is pretty much the same as worshipping a peice of equipment such as this once it has been used multiple times.
Cuz yeah, I really don't like Motely Crue at all, I actually quite dislike all hair metal, it was totally lame in the 80's and the fact that some of those bands are still touring disappoints me.

history lesson for posters number 13&14... a douchebag was used long before such thing as summers eve etc....
It was actually similar to an I.V."bag" in a hospital but this wouldve hung in the bathroom......
at any rate....the cleansing solution would be placed in the "bag" with a hose attached to the bottom...while the "bag" is suspended in the air... the hoses other end would be placed in the hooha and gravity would do the rest... while sitting on the toilet that is..!!
what am I hearing... Led Zeppelins 02 reunion show on DVD...!

uuhh thanks gents..!! didnt really wanna come off as a know it all... but it makes me laugh..
the term douchebag is thrown around alot... which is odd...cause I dont think they have even been used in probably 30-40 years...???
oh yeah....the subject is Motley Crue...
I cant see Walken as Ozzy or Kilmer as DLR... Kilmer was alright as Jim Morrison...but that was quite a few years ago...!!
LST77-- you mention Madison, WI in another thread....are you close to Madtown..??
I live a few hours from there...

godlike--I'm from Monroe, 45 minutes southwest of Madison. For all of you out there that have no clue where that is, trust me when I say you are lucky for that. The only good thing about where I live is I'm within a 150 miles of Milwaukee and Chicago, so it works great for a concert junkie like me. But if next winter is anything like this one, I'm migrating!

LST77...Ive heard of Monroe... I live over the border in Iowa.....Madtown is about a 3 hour drive???
Ive done some partying there over the years.... had some great herb from that area too..!!!
Elijah wood as Iggy Pop.....give me a break... that would be as bad as Danny Devito playing Lemmy in a Motohead movie...!!

Yeah motley released some great albums, but vince live, just talks through the lyrics. I don't understand why he cops out so bad other than to save his voice for what he thinks might be more important gigs. I saw them live on direct tv. with some chick playin drums and they were horrible. The band was ok, but vince was just terrible. If your not going to give it all you got then what the hell. As far as a movie, that would be really interesting to see. To the people who hate hair metal, when you grow up you'll find hating one gere of music just to try to justify your particular favorite is just lame. You will never convince everyone that your music is the only way. Look at me, I still can't belive anyone ever liked the sex pistols.

Sounds good, I like Motley Crue, Im not a huge fan but I like some of their songs. I know that Bobaflex really wants to tour with these guys, so if they get booked on the tour I will for sure be there. That, and it all depends on how much they are gonna charge for tickets.
