Severed Saviour Post Album Update
Guitarist Mike Gilbert of SEVERED SAVIOR has posted the following update:
“The artwork for our next CD is coming along great. Par Oloffson is almost done, and I think it’s going to be awesome once completed. Shit, it’s awesome at the stage it’s at right now. So I know it’s only going to get better.
Rhythm guitars are done! Actually I was one song away from being finished over a month ago. Then my worst nightmare came true. For some reason, (probably my fault) Cubase had been saving most of my files in some random ass folder I was not aware of. So, even though I had been meticulously backing up my work. When I cleaned out some space on my drive, I lost over 80% of the guitar wave files. A professional data recovery business could not retrieve a single file I needed, and those that were retrieved were corrupt and unusable. So, to make a long story short. I had to start over. Rather than throwing up, or having a nervous breakdown, I just sucked it up and went back to work. And I must admit, even though it was an absolute nightmare come true, losing all the songs I had worked so hard to complete. They came out even better this time around. Now that rhythm guitars are out of the way. A few solos and the clean/acoustic song are next on the agenda.
Bass recording is going very well, and it’s about half way done. A fair amount of the new material has separate guitar parts, as well as completely separate bass parts not following either guitar. The bass is adding the icing to the cake. And it’s really great to hear these songs coming together with the full instrumentation and orchestration as I imagined them when I wrote them.
I want to apologize to you guys for not having completed the CD yet. I know some of you are very eager for this CD to finally be released. But unfortunately due to a fucked up work schedule, I’ve only been able to do tracking a couple days per week. Let alone the unforeseen obstacles that have popped up a few times causing delay. But I assure you we are near completion and you can still look forward to a release early ‘08. That’s about it for now. Once the artwork is completed, I’ll be sure to post it here.”
