According to The Sun, banned LED ZEPPELIN classic 'Stairway To Heaven' returned to its spiritual home in London thanks to a gang of committed air guitarists. The track, which features on the rockers’ new Mothership greatest hits collection, has long been unwelcome on Denmark Street – home to the capital’s largest concentration of guitar shops.

Frustrated staff have consistently refused permission for wannabe axe Gods to perform the track while testing new instruments because punters regularly mangle the extraordinary solo – perfected on record by Jimmy Page.

Guitarists across the country were invited to take part in the performance.

Embarassingly however, just one intrepid guitar-slinger took his life into his own hands by setting up shop on the venerable thoroughfare in order to blast the song out once more.

More happily scores of supportive passers-by lent moral support to the hapless strummer by joining in on air guitar.
