Joe Satriani Begins Recording New Album

Legendary guitarist Joe Satriani has entered the studio to begin recording his new album for a tentative April 2008 release. "Joining me this time are engineer/co-producer John Cuniberti, drummer Jeff Campitelli, bassist Matt Bissonette, multi-instra-mentalist Eric Caudieux, Zen Master Mike Manning and Mysterious Mike Boden, who shaved his head for the project!" Satriani writes on his web site. "There is no working title for the project as of yet... suggestions are always welcome."

Joe Satriani 20th anniversary reissue of the "Surfing with the Alien" LP came out in August 7.

You know what would have been a kickass bonus song for Guitar Hero 3? Joe Satriani and Dream Theater's cover of the Mission Impossible theme song. The Satch f***in shreds on that song. But yeah, Joe is the sh**. And Jeff Campitelli can hold his own too.
