Fans Sue Aerosmith
According to TheHawaiiChannel.com, angry rock fans are suing the band AEROSMITH for canceling its concert on Maui last month.
The lawsuit said the band's late cancellation was unnecessary and caused many fans to lose money they spent on plane tickets, car rentals and hotels.
The lawsuit is on behalf of all ticket holders.
Under the state's consumer law, plaintiffs could be eligible for triple their losses in damages and up to $5,000 if over the age of 62.
In order to contact the law firm for more information, class members can go to SueAerosmith.com or AerosmithClassAction.com.
According to StarBulletin.com, AEROSMITH canceled its only public concert in Hawaii — September 26 in Maui — for logistical reasons, although a private concert on Oahu three days went ahead as scheduled.
Because a tour date in Chicago was rescheduled, "it is not logistically possible for the band's equipment to make it to Hawaii in time for the scheduled Maui show," AEROSMITH's management said in a statement explaining the cancellation. "The band would like to apologize for this inconvenience to their fans."
Co-promoter Tom Moffatt said he learned of the rescheduled Chicago concert just as the Maui concert was selling out. It had broken all previous box office records for a Maui concert.
AEROSMITH performed at Les Murakami Stadium at the University of Hawaii-Manoa on September 29 as part of a Toyota corporate gathering of dealers from all across the country.

i heard the real reason for the cancelation was a "no compete" clause in the contract with toyota that would not allow another concert by the band in the same area, thus making the toyota concert more special. the concert promoters then decided to have the concert on maui, however, toyota then pressured the promoters to cancel the maui concert claiming the "no compete clause" extended to the whole state. who is responsible toyota or the promoters?

Suing rock bands, come on! sh** happens. Why in the world would you get non-refundable tickets? I get nervous everytime before I go to ozzfest. I think, I have to see Ozzy, this could be the last time, anything can happen. There are NO guarantees. Just as long as the tickets were refunded.
