LAMB OF GOD and Killswitch Engage have announced that they will be teaming up for a late fall co-headlining tour. Almost four years after their first run together on MTV2’s Headbangers Ball Tour, the two powerhouses have reunited to bring holiday mayhem throughout the US. The tour will begin on November 28th in Lowell, Massachusetts and end on December 17th in Albuquerque, New Mexico with LAMB OF GOD and Killswitch Engage alternating headlining slots each night. Directly supporting these metal juggernauts will be DevilDriver, with Swedish metallers Soilwork kicking off the show each evening.
LAMB OF GOD will be wrapping up the Sacrament album cycle with this tour. After 18 months of touring with Slayer, Megadeth, Ozzfest, Heaven and Hell, and headlining runs in the US, Japan, Australia, UK and Europe, LAMB OF GOD will take 2008 off to prepare for a new CD. Fans will get a new dose of LAMB OF GOD in 2008 with a full length DVD, set for release in the spring. The DVD will document the entire Sacrament experience, beginning with rehearsals for the albums recording straight through this headline run.
“Yes the rumors are true, Killswitch and LAMB OF GOD are back together again” Killswitch vocalist Howard Jones affirms. “We had our honeymoon four years ago and now it’s time to renew our metal vows. This is your official invitation - the only one you will ever need.”
Chris Adler from LAMB OF GOD adds "Touring the Sacrament album has been some of the most exciting times we have ever experienced. It has taken us around the world several times over, playing the biggest shows of our career with some of the best bands in the business and in front of the greatest fans in the world. We are tighter, stronger and smarter than we have ever been and before we put the machine that is LAMB OF GOD to bed for a little while and call an end to the touring cycle, we want to bring it to the next level. So together with our true friends in Killswitch, DevilDriver and Soilwork we plan to bring you something that won't be forgotten. Thanks to everyone who has supported us and we are looking forward to one more brutal evening with all of you!!!"
Presale tickets will go on sale on October 3 through www.lamb-of-god.com. Tickets go on sale to the public on October 12 and 13 – check your local listings for details.

Lamb Of God and Devildriver are f***in' bomb, but Killswitch..........?. KSE is weak sh**, f*** them I just plain hate that screamocore bullsh**. Never heard any Soilwork though. Throw in Bodom and 3 inches instead of KSE and Soilwork and I'd probably sploosh in my pants.

killswitch havent been around as long as the other bands (except DD) and the guys have only released awesome albums so far, seem to improve with every record unlike soilwork. I actually think Alive or Just Breathing? by killswitch is better or atleast as good as anything soilwork has ever released.

28. writes:
I have to disagree, The Chainheart Machine, Steelbath Suicide, and A Predator's Portrait are classic pieces of Gothenburg Melodic Death.
Alive or Just breathing is a good cd, and KSE's best in my opinion, but nothing on it comes close to the brutality of "Sadistic Lullaby" "Spirits of the Future Sun" or "Bastard Chain"

Soilwork sh**s on KsE, musically and vocally. Killswitch is just more popular and mainstream which is why they're one of the headliners. They're more popular. I like Soilwork's CD's better than KsE and I've seen both live and I will say they both but on good shows. Speed has a much better singing and screaming voice in my opinion.

metalcore mainsteam? Expected from someone named "StabbingTheDrama" Soilwork is even more mainstream than kse afaik, not far from it atleast. Dont start talking about mainstream metal since Soilwork is exactly that. Only reason they arent headlining is because they arent as popular in the states anymore because of their disappointing releases. KsE are the better band atm. No disrespect to Soilwork though, they are a great band too.

Moonchild you contradicted yourself by saying that Soilwork is mainstream metal, but then said they aren't as popular in the states. I would say that KsE has more popularity here in the states, but it doesn't necessarily mean they are the better band. I would completely agree with Stabbing in saying that Soilwork and KsE are hard to compare because their styles are completely different. Soilworks past releases (prior to Figure Number Five) have been a lot more Gothenburg Melo Death, versus Killswitch which has been a lot more of the Metalcore approach, which has really tapered off lately to more of the melodic metal.
Either way, putting these guys on a bill with LoG and DevilDriver is pretty cool. Throw in a little Nevermore and suddenly you could have the size of bill that the Summer Sanitarium tour had back a few years ago, except with way better bands.

Most tours have far better bands than Summer Sanitarium haha. Soilwork's Stabbing the Drama might as well have been metalcore. It still bothers me that I'm finding more American bands who sound more Scandinavian than the old Scandinavian bands do. I have to agree with a previous statement of yours that The Absence is the best Scandinavian band not to come from Sweden or Finland or Norway

37. writes:
I think KSE is going to drift away from the metalcore approach. I thought their latest cd was pretty solid, and showed a new direction. However, I like all four bands on this tour. I also second the opinion you cannot really compare Soilwork and KSE, and that The Abscence are now making the best Scandanavian influenced band from the states.

FocusShift, I completely agree that Stabbing the Drama was close to Metalcore, although I would say that Figure Number Five was their full on attempt at a metalcore record. I do think that more bands are trying to reinvent the wheel with each record, rather than just building upon their previous ones. Dark Tranquillity is a prime example of a band that found their sound and is just getting better at it. I would also agree that we are seeing a lot more bands state-side try to make an attempt to sound more Scandinavian and more Scandinavian bands trying to gain more popularity state-side. Sort of a catch-22, because American music is just a bunch of fads. You just don't get the longevity out of American bands that you do from Scandinavian bands.

i gotta agree with Public Execution, Killswitch are drifting away from the metalcore approach, which is the reason why KsE fans were disappointed with the new album. It sounds a lot less -core and more melodic metal and is it just me but, reminds me a bit of gothenburg metal aswell?

Public exec. hell yeah, ive been listenin to the absence 4 quite some time, really b4 they even got signed to metalblade(i got alot of demos and whatnot) and its really great to see them gettin some spotlight, KSE, LOG this is probably one of the best lineups ive ever fukin seen!! STAY METAL
