On Broken Wings Goes On Hiatus
Massachusetts' On Broken Wings (Eulogy Recordings) has announced plans to disband for an indeterminate amount of time as they focus on other priorities. Here's a statement from the band:
"We have decided to take an indefinite hiatus to work on all the other bands/things we have going on in our lives. We did a lot of tours, played a lot of shows, met a lot of good people, and grew up a lot.
"We all have new bands, some of us more than 1, some of us more than 2 or 3, haha. We will be playing a few farewell shows, so be on the lookout for updates. Our farewell to the West Coast show will be at the Earth Crisis reunion in Ventura, CA on May 5th. This means CA, Vegas, Arizona... move it.
"Make sure you check out all the other projects [Shere Khan, The Confrontation, Everbody Out, etc.] we're working on until we feel like On Broken Wings is ready for new material."

EMO is emotional hardcore punk u f***ing idiot, why are u so f***ing stupid, learn about music before u dumbf***s on this supposed metal site that covers My Chemical Romance( I guess MCR was meant to stay UNDERGROUND) type out ur bullsh**. in Fact i dont think any band in the world actually calls themselves a "EMO" band. The whole concept of EMO is f***ing stupid, i mean what kind of music doesnt have emotion in it. And stabbing Your Mama ur OPINION is f***ing stupid STOP LEAVING POSTS U ARE STUPID sh**!

You can go f*** yourself. I've been on this site a hell of a lot longer than you have a$$hole. And the emo=emotional is just bullsh**. If you f***ing whine in your music then you are f***ing emo. Agree that they are hardcore too, a lot of hardcore bands add the "emo" element to it with a whiney melodic chorus. And there are TONS of emo bands, I know they're not all hardcore, but of course there are emo bands. I've heard a lot of bands call themselves emo, Fall Out Boy for example have you dumb sh**. It's okay though because you're just a stupid f*** that'll never come back to defend your p***y a$$ anyway.

See what a lot of people don't understand is the bands looks and the guys themselves have an impact on whether they are PART emo. Even if they don't sound emo, if you see some of these hardcore bands live they'll be wearing girl pants, eye liner, emo haircuts and sh**. Their music may not sound emo but see some of them live, not all are like that.
One of my favorite hardcore bands is Throwdown and they don't do any of that sh**. Yes, there are bands that would consider them punk and people to consider them punk but unfortunately in this day and age the two are intermingling. For example, I saw Freya and they had very emo looks and their music was hardcore. It was a bad combination of bands by the way at this concert, it was 3 hardcore bands (Sworn Enemy, Freya, and Too Pure to Die) and then a death metal band (Kataklysm) and there were tons of fights because the death metal fans were hating the hardcore bands.

On the topic of On Broken Wings, they dont wear girls pants, eye liner, all clean cut, and i'm pretty sure one of them has a grill. Plus, they're better than Throwdown, since the scale were using is emo=bad, not emo=good, that puts OBW in their not emo category, i guess. They use a singing part in the one song you listened to, it makes them more of a band who grew up from their earlier albums and tried something different instead of just screaming the whole way through. It's not really a bad thing

They are nowhere near as good as Throwdown. I know that singing is not a bad thing when it's good, when it's whiney then no it's not a good thing. I haven't seen them live so I can't say what they look like in person. My point was that a lot of hardcore bands get put into emo category because of their looks and if there's a melodic chorus or part of a song and it's WHINING, not singing, then it can be considered emo. People are going to have different opinions, okay? That song that had the whiney chorus sounded hardcore up until the chorus, that's all I'm saying.
