Nachtmystium Post New Song Online
Chicago-area metal band NACHTMYSTIUM has posted a rehearsal recording of a new song on its MySpace page. The track is expected to appear on the band's upcoming split album with fellow countrymen LEVIATHAN, slated for an early 2007 release via Southern Lord. The newly recorded material is said to bring NACHTMYSTIUM's core elements of aggression, despondency, and dissonance to new depths. Sessions will continue during December with longtime producer/engineer Chris Black at the controls.
NACHTMYSTIUM's album "Instinct: Decay" (Battle Kommand Records) was recently nominated for "Metal Album of the Year" by the Plug Independent Music Awards. Other nominees for this honor include CELTIC FROST's "Monotheist" and AGALLOCH's "Ashes Against the Grain". Cast your vote here.

now that ive been spinnig it for 24 straight hours, Nachtmystium's "Instinct: decay" might be my favorite record of 2006. it is seriously awe inspiring what azentrius and his minions do on this album. If there could ever be such a thing (man, this is gonna be blasphemous) they are the tool of black metal.

"instinct: decay" is like Isis' latest and satyricon's latest mixed together, except blake judd's guitar work is absolutely amazing compared w/ satyricon's. nachtmystium's new one is the best album ive heard in a long time from a band that i hadnt heard of previously. its really pretty amazing.
