The Haunted Set Release Date For "The Dead Eye"

Swedish thrashers THE HAUNTED have set an October 31 North American release date through Century Media Records for their new album, "The Dead Eye" (one day earlier internationally). The highly anticipated follow-up to 2004's critically acclaimed "rEVOLVEr" album was recorded in Denmark at Antfarm Studios with renowned producer Tue Madsen (HIMSA, KATAKLYSM) and is said to be the band's "most accomplished work to date." The group spent months working on the new material pushing themselves to create something unique that combines certain elements of their previous efforts, while ultimately forging ahead in new, unexplored directions.

Commented THE HAUNTED frontman Peter Dolving: "I think we've managed to find an immense sound: the drums are clearer, heavier and less processed, and we've even got acoustic guitars, congas, strings and loads of weird noise manipulations going on.

"As far as the vocals go, I honestly didn't know I could even sing some of the stuff. I was nervous as fuck when I got down to Tue's studio, and felt like a complete rookie: 'Shit, how the hell am I going to live up to this.' Turns out all I had to do was keep running my miles and warm up like when we're on tour.

"You can look forward to an album we're proud as fuck of, and we're looking forward to seeing you all again as soon as we head out for tour. It'll be ugly as ever, I'm sure."

THE HAUNTED's fourth album, "rEVOLVEr", entered the Swedish album chart at position No. 18 upon its release in October 2004. The follow-up to 2003's "One Kill Wonder" was recorded at Gothenburg's famed Studio Fredman (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY) with co-producers Patrik J. Sten and Fredrik Nordström and mixed at Antfarm by Tue Madsen. The album was released as jewel-case CD and limited edition digipak (each with a different cover), featuring two special bonus tracks, 'Fire Alive' and 'Smut King'.
