Yeah, That sh** isnt rare. those are just a bunch of live tracks. Azazel is right. if you say rare, then ake it f***en rare. not sh** u can get off their albums. One is off of TALITM, earache my eye is off of follow the leader nd proud is off the i know what you did last summer soundtrack. f*** that.
I'm dead serious, Where are the songs they did for "Queen of the Damned", and any other songs that are exclusive to soundtracks? What about sh** Korn did when they were still LAPD, or from Jon's first band, Sexart? Now That sh** is RARE! I have every Korn album already, why would I want the same sh** Live? Their "One" cover was on TALITM...Come on, GIVE US MORE THAN WHAT WE KNOW? There are still a f***load of people who don't know that Jonathan Davis was behind all the music (including the Score) in "Queen of the Damned"....This is BULLsh**
sh**, even Manson put the "Tainted Love" cover on his Greatest Hits, and that was exclusive to "Not Another Teen Movie"?
Azazel_Begotten, man that's only your opinion. Jonathan said that The Matrix only helped writing songs!
KoRn want to take their musik to a new level. That is not a bad thing and how could you know they sold out they can set their ticket prices and not rip off anybody. I can't believe you think about them that way! KoRn were always open to their fans
I would also like to add one more thing. To all the people that have wrote their comments in here talking crap about KoRn and go down south. KoRn does not suck and you all that think KoRn sucks are just jealous of them cuz they are still cool and rule the metal scene. KoRn is still and always will be around forever. So you all can go suck a D**k. To all those people that sayed nice things about KoRn you all rule also.
Stop saying Korn are sellouts, and everyone who keeps making dumb anti-Korn remarks, you never give a good reason for your opinion, all you say is "Korn is gay" or "Korn sucks balls" or something dumb like that. For once try to insult someone without using the words gay, d***, balls or anything like that, it just makes you seem very interested in guys.
hey, what ever happend to the cover cd I had heard about 6 months ago? there was a rumor they were going to cover ozzy, NIN, Rolling Stones, another Pink Floyd, and others. I even heard a title for the cd "KoRn: Under Cover" That would have be great and even new stuff, none of this old stuff you can find anywhere. And the most deffinetly did SELL OUT.
Jesus, I don't get all this sh** about the "Queen Of The Damned" Soundtrack songs... I have all of them already it's not like they're rare! I have "Forsaken", "Not Meant For Me" (plus the extended version), "Redeemer", "Slept So Long", and "System". I have ALL 5 (6 including the extended version of "Not Meant For Me") and they are all in Jonathan's own voice--no Disturbed or Linkin Park or Orgy Soundtrack sh**. I can send them to anybody here if they like... or you can just go to korn.simpol.net and download them from there. By the way, the reason these songs are hard to find is because Jon Davis was under a contract stating that he couldn't release the soundtrack with his vocals (because it might have promoted or demoted Korn). All 5 (6) of these songs have been ripped straight from the DVD with excellent quality, and some parts were reconstructed and taken from the soundtrack to complete unfinished songs, like Slept So Long and Not Meant For Me. The quality is superb on every song except on Slept So Long (great quality but not excellent quality). Each song has been maximized in sound quality by removing noise and increasing the sample rate... but anyway, I have the songs on my computer--I can send them to you--MDCornell@charter.net--or you can download them straight from korn.simpol.net.
Peace.
By the way--can't wait for LIve & Unreleased! I admit, I have all of those songs already, even the rare Woodstock performances... and could easily burn the CD and listen to it right now... but it's still Korn! As a loyal fan, I will buy anything Korn sells because Korn are my inspiration! (I just don't get why they are releasing "Proud" on the CD--that song is like 10 years old--everyone already has it on their computers anyway--and why not "Kick The PA" or "Sean Olsen"? I don't know--but it's Korn!)
Peace
ozzy-rules, thanks for agreeing...I don't know if I'd like all those covers though
Life is Pee-Chee, You have them? Man, why don't they just sell them on CDs? It'd be awesome if I didn't have search for it on the internet...But Anyways, I'll check it out and email you maybe...And I agree...What about 'Kick the PA', or 'Sean Olsen'?
brad, lol
some people sure got a way with posting the same comment twice or three times but this......... unless you did it on purpose.
ANYWAYS JANESSA MERKIE I'M HOT TOO.
you know i sure miss lord agony he was so f***ing fun.... perhaps he been in another thread. not that i ever talk to him. he is just a funny son of a b****.
Yeah, I miss insulting LordAgony too. He was so easy to make fun of. There are alot of new posts by some called LordAgony. but this person uses a period at the end, the old Lord Agony didn't do that.
Janessa Merkie, you really want people to notice you don't you?
you all make a good point, except for the fa**ots who say korn have sold out, you can f**k off. but my issue with the QOTD songs (which i also have the real JD versions,) is that they actually wrote 10 songs for the movie (i was in the crowd scene of the movie and they told us there were 10 songs, richard gibbs or whatever his name is was there) so where are the other 5?? i actually think that a couple of them were on see you on the other side, like love song for one.
Now listen up here all u little punk a$$ bastards, do u really think its KoRns fault that there is a cd being released called live and rare that is full of sh** that aint rare, if u are all going to moan and f**kin groan bout it, tell it to the record company!!!
hey Zos Kia Cultus, go f*** a goat, i mean yeah they were very close to selling out on follow the leader, but i believe that a band can go close, its what they do next that makes all the difference, and issues brought them back from the edge and was an awesome album, as are every album thats followed. not that follow the leader was a crap album, it was good in its own right.
yeah azazel there were supposed to be ten songs for QOTD, so i dont know for sure bout love song, but you listen to the lyrics and it sounds like vampire stuff to me. and im sure they managed to slip the other songs in somewhere. dunno, if i ever meet 'em i'll be sure to ask tho.
KoRn didn't sell out. They don't make anymore money now that they did. Both Hip-Hoppers and Rockers like their older music more. I sincerely believe they just lost it, lost their love for music. I was in denial with TALITM besides a couple of songs like "Y'all Wanna Single" and "Right Now." Both of those songs showed a raw side of KoRn we haven't seen since the first album, but the rest of the CD seemed uninspired- as if they pulled it out their ass. If you ask me, they haven't sold out. They've just lost their charisma. They've always been Hip-Hop a little, just listen to Follow the Leader and the songs with Ice Cube and Fred Durst and Life is Peachy with the cover of "Wicked." They haven't sold out, it's just the band members don't have the same vibe they did in the 90's. If you ask me, KoRn fell with TALITM. It's just unfortunate for all of us hardcore KoRn fans that it ended so early. I was expecting KoRn to fall off at their 8th album, not their 6th. I will always love the first 5 albums, and the band as people... but they should not have thrown this 5hit in our face and expect us to like it. Besides 2 songs off of TALITM and SYOTOS, I'm seriously disappointed. What happened to KoRn only having 2 songs I didn't like off an album? Now it seems there are only 2 that I do like per album post Untouchables. R.I.P. KoRn, 2004.
:(
y'all are just looking far too into this whole selling out business. i mean, look at how far they have come, considering losing head, and munky being able to step into his shoes, of course things are gonna change a bit when that sort of thing happens, but korn is about more than just the music. jonathan davis is still the greatest singer in the world, he knows how to draw me in still, and always will be able to. he is one seriously disturbed individual, and he knows how to sing superbly, i freakin love that guy.
hey 'f*** korn', i dont think you would know if your arse was on fire. the only korn song that i dont like, is play me, and that is because NAS sucks balls and killed that song.
back to the tracklisting of the "live and rare" have y'all heard the song love on the rocks from the wonderland soundtrack?
you are right they started nu-metal. so no one should argue cuz they are the oldest nu-metal band cuz they came out in 1994. but i believe that when korn first came out they were truly heavy metal, slowly but surely they got to the rap ways which in thus led them to fusion rap and metal and became nu-metal by the time they reached follow the leader. what i really want to know is why most of you metalheads don't like nu-metal? i don't see anything wrong with the genre.
the crusader is right there, nu-metal is pretty sweet. well, for the most part, but like every genre it has its shockers. korn could not foresee that they would start something that so many posers would strive to become a part of. but don't slot the good bands in with the sh**e ones.
i think that most metal heads dont like nu metal because they are not interested in music where a person can sing, and you can understand them and like it. they prefer the roaring crap. unintelligible, unemotional pure and simple loud noise. whereas what nu metal brought to us all was quite literally a new phase of metal. that the music can be heavy, and the singing is still heavy, in it's way, but it has more meaning and depth than just pure and simple grunting.
which doesnt mean that nu metal is against heavy metal, just look at the covers that bands do, like korn covering one, and they do a f***ing sweet job of it too.
good point gimp. and i think that death metal lyrics maybe fantastical but there music and vocals are loud and simple that there is no point.
but if you think it loud and simple 100%. it's not. the one i listen to is MELODIC DEATH METAL.if you never heard of this bands you should check them out here is a list:
ARCH ENEMY
TRIVIUM
OPETH
DIMMU BORGIR
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE
ILL NINO
MORBID ANGEL
STONE SOUR
SHADOWS FALL
SOILWORK
DEMON HUNTER
AND OF COURSE..............IN FLAMES!!!!!!!!!!!
this bands scream and the music loud but it not simple, like you think. there are a lot more bands.
ill nino are great, saw them live last month, stonesour are awesome, its good to really hear corey sing there, especially orchids and bother, but the rest ive no interest. killswitch are anything but melodic in my opinion.
hey, borninacasket, mayhap you shoulda stayed in the casket too.
but i dont limit myself to one genre of music, which is what a lot of metal heads seem to do, which is another reason heavy metal lovers find it so hard to like nu metal, cos its different. i tend to listen to things i enjoy, not just-one-genre-and-everything-else-sucks!
Let me review everything Korn for you (Timeline/Commentary, on bands and albums)
(First off, the bands they were in before Korn)
Sexart (the band Jon was in before. They later became the Deftones after Jon left): It was the obvious root of Nu-Metal
LAPD (the band the rest of the band were in before they renamed themselves Korn and replaced their vocalist with Jon. Oddly enough, the original frontman became the frontman of the Deftones, formerly known as Sexart...Ironic no?): Same style, but the vocals are obvious...They had the same skill in Korn's debut album.
(And now...Jon replaces future Deftones vocalist of LAPD)
LAPD (Demo Album): Same songs that became songs on the Korn debut, but with a more raw sound
(And now...LAPD renames themselves Korn)
Korn (self-titled debut): Clearly starting out, really raw...
Life is Peachy: More form, still raw, but they're showing more improvement and more skill. Songs are better structured
Follow the Leader: Even better structured, More rappers involved...They're clearly moving up in skill trying to better themselves with each album
Issues: Now this is the transition album. "Falling Away From Me" Tops charts, really catchy songs, no rappers...
Untouchables: This has to be their pinnacle of creativity! With songs like "Hollow Life", "Alone I Break", and "No One's There". It shows they have reached the top, and couldn't get any more creative. Nu-Metal at its best
Take A Look In The Mirror: Goes back to the rawness of self-titled, Life is Peachy, and Follow The Leader. But also with an attempt to do something like Death Metal in a way. The one rapper, and a cover of Metallica's "One" but no kickass solo (So we can safely say Neither guitarist can do sh** like Metal bands do)
See You On The Other Side: NOW THIS IS WHERE THEY SOLD OUT, Not at Follow the Leader, not at Untouchables. ON THIS ALBUM! Every album before this was solely THEIR (the band's) WORK! This on the other hand, got help from producers...and lyricists...So it is THIS ALBUM THEY SOLD OUT ON...
Whatever happens to them now, happens...But I doubt they'll be good/original again...
i don't doubt it. or perhaps i'm just denying reality, but really hope they truly become there old self again i hope there is a major possibilty. ......yeah korn will truly be back but i guess we will have to wait one or two more albums before they there stop time periods of selling out. you know this albums simply sucks because jon did'nt wrote the lyrics himself. this album could have been great. now all korn need to do go back is for the real band members to start writing the lyrics themselves again.
now out of all those gothenburg bands you mentioned (melodic death metal) maybe like 3 of them actually fit: arch enemy, first 3 albums from in flames, and soilwork.
opeth is prog death and morbid angel are technical death dude while the rest of what you listed is just plain sh**. and while we're on the topic i would like to say on the behalf of the people here who you know, actually LISTEN to metal...don't open your sh** hole about death metal ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever again.
stick to stone sour
hey Azazel_Begotten, where are you getting your info from? the lead singer of LAPD was richard someone wasnt it (i cant find my cd as im midway between houses and living out of boxes) and yes he joined sexart, but they arent the deftones dude.
does anyone have any sexart songs? i have the song Seven, but cant find the others anywhere.
if break it down for you dude we will be here all damn day...here are only a few subgenres of pure death
technical/canadian style: cryptopsy, nueraxis, beneath the massacre, origin....
american technical brutal death (mainly out of florida): deicide, morbid angel, obituary, moritician, DEATH, suffocation (new york)
death/thrash: destruction, sadus...etc
groove oriented death: bolt thrower, carcass, immolation, aborted...etc
personal favorite - porn/gore: corpse, cliteater, c*** and ball torture...etc
guttural brutal and indecipherable death metal: deeds of flesh, decrepit birth, older exhumed...etc
and the genre you pretend to know about, melodic death: older in flames, older soilwork, dark tranquility, at the gates, the crown, anything tomas lindberg touches, mors principium est
now that i've made myself sound like a pretentious a$$ i hope you will check out some of these bands and learn for yourself that death metal is a little more than just loud and f***ing simple.
yeah i certainly had. some children of bodom, disturbed, nightwish, i'm trying some cradle of filth, dimmu borgir, and pantera.
anywaaaaaaaaaaaaays..................... bradisp***ed you are right you are right (but not so right)
don't even know to begin to tell you the truth. death metal is a very broad genre, anyways.
Yep...
Hey BLACKDOG, you were saying in the other Korn thread...NICE IDEAS! By all means, GO FOR IT DUDE!!! Keep us posted...But seriously, you KNOW deathbringer would promote you as well...Think of it, you're a member here before, and deathbringer is very benevolent with members (Look at how long LordAgony was here before the banning)...
Pro wrestler's with the WWE.I stopped likeing CENA when he had the HEAVY WEIGHT TITLE for way too long.HHH had a two year undefeated streak as well and I got sick of him but if it get's the belt to change hand's I really hope he won aswell.I reallize pro wrestling although fake is still quite dangerous.I met Sand Man & Tommy Dreamer these guy's endure incredible amount's of paine for our entertainment and I would never down play what they do.This however does not change the fact that it's fixed and it has plot lines just likes soap's and comic book's.Any wrestler who has a title that long without a good plot line or some hillarious incident's of cheating is BOREING !!!!!!!!!
Thank's AZAZEL I'll keep you posted.DEATH BRINGER IF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE PLEASE E-MAIL ME AT smokey_14208@yahoo.com
I like KoRn but have not really been impressed with them since the first three record's.It's like they've been recycling thier old stuff and not really progressing further. If anything they've been slowly but surely watering themselves down. But this does happen to alot of band's and or musician/performer's.I call it Uncle L's disease.LL COOL J.was what is more commonly known as a battle Rapper in the early 80's.(extremely fierce lyric's)For those of you familliar with EMINEM'S feud's with other rapper's that's essentially what he did but EMINEM does not compare trust me.In any event after he started makeing rediculous sum's of money. He whent from The HIP HOP equivalent of say Alice Cooper to the HIP HOP equivalent of BERRY MANILOW.It's really depressing. But that's what I see as happening to them & METTALICA.
Yeah it's crazy. But that's what happen's when your not hungry anymore. You know this is kind of a metaphore for John Cena now that I think about it.He's got the belt & he suck's.But when he did not have the belt and was a bad guy busting his a$$ to be noticed and become a maine eventer he was the sh**.I guess it takes all kind's.It's gotta be fun though. These guy's make disturbing amount's of money to play fight. It must be nice.

Hey! Why don't they release the songs Korn did for the "Queen of the Damned" Soudtrack? That sh** was awesome! And that sh** really is RARE! And how about "Kick the PA", "Sean Olsen", and all the others that aren't on albums...??? you can have the Live sh** that ARE on the albums, but what about the ones I mentioned? That sh** is better than what they're releasing!!!
