Florida's Bodies In The Gears Of The Apparatus have reportedly called it quits. Formed in 2002, the band has released material with The Spew Records in addition to a split with Despised Icon through Relapse Records. Vocalist Josh Vitale commented on the split:
"We're all very upset to see this band go, but for now, this is the best decision we could decide on. We will all be in other bands, most likely not with each other. We had a lot of critics both positive and negative - both of which made us stronger people and we'd like to send out our thanks to those many who angered and inspired us enough to work harder, moreover, we want to thank everyone who supported this musical project for the past three years. Finally, thank you so much for making this a wonderful and unforgettable experience."
Bodies In The Gears Of The Apparatus were reportedly writing material for their debut full-length and had completed two songs thus far and had planned to play some shows in April, followed by summer touring. In December of last year, Bodies In The Gears Of The Apparatus was rejoined by former drummer Dom Lizzio, who left the band in October.

Actually on their myspace blog it states:
"I am looking for drummers and guitar players. New project in the works, I am looking to make this project my primary focus. I have awesome, motivated and talented people coming together to work with me and I am honored, lucky and excited. However, I require yet another guitar player and a drummer who can not only haul a$$ on the BPMs (especially the bass drums), but can be creative/odd/original.
Enquiring parties MUST:
1. Live near/move to Tampa/St.Pete/Clearwater FL. area.
2. Have decent equipment, or sh**ty equipment that works reliably and sounds awesome.
3. Be willing and able to commit to at least four practices a week.
4. Be willing and able to commit to a 3 month on, 2 month off tour schedule once the songs are solidified.
5. This music is going to be as bizarro as it is brutal and heavy; as well, the members are stable but weird people, so you must be chill and open minded.
6. Must love to write and play amazing music with no doubts about their abilities or goals.
Practice space will be provided. If you do not live in our area and we decide mutually to work together, temporary housing can be provided. Won't be luxurious, but it will be free.

Hey guys, thanks so much for the replies. I had a great almost four year run singing for this band and we hope you all will like the new sh** from all of us. I'll be singing for www.myspace.com/arbiterofconceit , doing the next cd for www.myspace.com/vomitingrectum and be singing for another band out of California, which I can't announce right now...but three of the other members will still be jamming together in Tampa, and i'm sure that they'll have a slight bodies sound to them...deifnitely keep in touch with all of us and thank you for the great time!
