Roman Candle Confront Misogyny On New Single “Lady Lazarus”

Las Vegas screamo band Roman Candle are keeping up their momentum with the swift release of a new single titled “Lady Lazarus.” Following last week’s “Bite Harder Than You Bleed,” which took aim at the darker side of the music industry, the group now turn their focus toward misogyny on this latest offering.
Frontwoman Piper Ferrari stated:
“‘Lady Lazarus‘ is me confronting misogyny head-on and refusing to shrink for anyone. The title comes from the Sylvia Plath poem, and like her, I’m pulling something powerful out of something painful. Lines like ‘Tender when I wanna be / Callous when I have to be’ came from recognizing how women are expected to bend, soften, or apologize just to exist – but also how we learn to harden ourselves for survival.
When I sing ‘Give me your dead stare, I eat men like air,’ it’s not about hating men – it’s about reclaiming the space that was denied to me, the anger I was taught to bury, and the fear I was meant to carry. This song is the sound of unlearning all of that. It’s rage, it’s release, and it’s me deciding I’m no longer shrinking out of anyone’s comfort.”
