Cobra Spell Announces Indefinite Hiatus; Cancels Scheduled Shows

Heavy metal flag bearers Cobra Spell, featuring former Burning Witches and Crypta guitarist Sonia Anubis, has announced that they have decided to halt their current plans and place the band on an indefinite hiatus. A statement from the group reads as follows:

"Dear fans,

"Today we have to share some news with you that fills our hearts with sadness.

"After a long period of reflection, as a band we have reached a point of no return that leads us to completely stop our musical activity (including all shows planned for 2026). The core and backbone of the project needs to pause, and we believe that the best way to go through this moment is to put Cobra Spell on an indefinite hiatus.

"We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all these years — If we have been able to create music, tour, and live unforgettable experiences, it has been largely thanks to you.

"From the very first day Cobra Spell existed until today, every word, every message, every gesture of support and every smile we saw in front of the stage made this entire journey truly worth it.

"We would like to deeply thank everyone in the industry who has accompanied us along the way — promoters, venues, technical crews, media, managers, photographers, and all the bands we had the chance to share the stage with.

"We want to thank each and every musician who has been part of the band at some point throughout this journey. Everything that begins eventually comes to an end, and today we have to say goodbye — at least for now.

"Of course, our paths as musicians do not stop here. We encourage you to keep following our continued musical career paths. We are soniaanubis , afunerailles and krisvega_ on any new projects and many beautiful things that are still to come.

"Thank you for being part of this story. We will always carry you with us.

"Forever yours,
Cobra Spell"

Cobra Spell formed in 2019 and released their first EP, "Love Venom" the following year. Following a second EP, "Addicted To The Night," the band released their debut full length, "666" through Napalm Records in December 2022. The group has undergone several lineup changes over the past seven years, with Sonia Anubis remaining the sole constant member.
