UPDATED: Ex-I Prevail Singer Brian Burkheiser Premieres His Debut SCATTERBRAIN Track "PHASES"

After resolving a legal dispute with his former bandmates in platinum-certified metalcore band I Prevail, vocalist Brian Burkheiser has officially launched his new project SCATTERBRAIN. The first all-original track from the project, “PHASES” (following a previously released Taylor Swift cover), began streaming online tonight, February 12th. Burkheiser issued the song through his own Scatterbrain Records imprint.
An accompanying music video for the track chronicles Burkheiser’s musical journey, touching on his early bands, leaving his day job behind, his ongoing medical struggles, and his fallout with I Prevail. The clip also addresses his family checking him into a mental health facility in 2025 after what he described as a “manic break,” while highlighting how he has since found renewed purpose through focusing on his growing family and moving forward with this new chapter.
