Midwinter Premiere New Single & Music Video "Champagne"

Metalcore outfit Midwinter have premiered a music video for their newest single “Champagne” tonight, streaming via YouTube and Spotify for you now below. The band have also announced a signing with Papercut Recordings, the label venture headed up by Brand Of Sacrifice guitarist Michael Leo Valeri (also the founder of Shibori Threads) and Fit For A King bassist/vocalist Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary (also of Beacon Management, among others).

Father Seaber directed the new video for the track, and the band shared the following about the song:

“‘Champagne‘ is used as a metaphor to celebrate something that is actually hollow. It symbolizes escapism and temporary euphoria. At its core, the track explores abandonment and betrayal but are masked behind something generally associated with a celebration.

Sonically, we wanted to experiment with contrasting emotions. Similar to the lyrics, certain sections of the track emote feelings of beautiful nostalgia but soon give way to extreme and jarring textures. Blending these together creates a push-pull between optimistic reflection and the pain of loss.”
