Ghost Premiere Cover Of Pet Shop Boys' "It's A Sin"

Ghost’s 2018 cover of the Pet Shop Boys classic “It’s A Sin” has now arrived on streaming services. While largely a matter of digital housekeeping, the band have woven the release of the 1987 synth-pop cover into their ongoing lore, attributing it to a loophole exploited by former frontman Frater Imperator.
According to the group’s canon, Frater Imperator was sidelined following the rise of the current frontpersona Papa V Perpetua, a shift that relegated him to an administrative position within the band’s fictional clergy. A cleverly assembled retro-style lyric video for the cover can be found below.
The Swedish occult rock outfit originally released “It’s A Sin” as a bonus track on their fourth studio album, Prequelle. That release also included a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Avalanche,” which has yet to receive an official streaming release.
