Saxon Performing At Mystic Festival In 2022

Prepare your armour – denim and leather. Saxon, as well as Cavalera with a Chaos A.D. based set, Primordial and Eyehategod are coming to Mystic Festival in Gdansk, Poland.

Saxon

We heard those of you demanding some classic heavy metal in the mix and we’re answering the call. The British crusaders of Saxon have been the harbingers of hell, fire and damnation for 50 years. They were pioneers who defined the sound of metal, they are masters of NWOBHM and a remaining source of inspiration for legions of musicians playing all types of heavy music. Rumour has it that next year we can expect their 25th album! What we know for sure is that in June 2026, the eagle will once again land in the Shipyard.

Cavalera performing Chaos A.D.

The early 90s brought with them hope for a new, better life in Poland, but from the global perspective, it wasn’t a peaceful period. It’s no surprise then that Sepultura, Brazilian rage incarnate, aimed their ire at corrupt politicians, rapacious big business, neocolonialism, racism and media propaganda. Three decades have passed yet the album’s message remains acutely current. As does the music itself, which combined thrash past of the band with punk, industrial, new metal and traditional music of the Amazonia. Max and Igor are coming with their project, Cavalera, to perform Chaos A.D. in its entirety.

Primordial

Afterglow cast by burning empires, ruins of former powers, civilisations shaking in their foundations, the clatter of arms and the menacing silence that always ends up falling onto the battlefield. All this has been captured in the music of the Irish band Primordial. Their music is both sublime and sinister, raw and, in its own way, refined, original yet built on traditional fundaments. Leading the charge is the proud Nemtheanga – with the lyrics, voice and stage presence that makes Primordial entirely one of a kind.

Eyehategod

Destined for blues. By their place of origin – New Orleans is surely two doors down from hell itself, everyone can see it – and by the ingredients with which they’ve concocted their poison. They mixed Black Sabbath riffs with the heaviness of doom metal, added in some hardcore and punk and seasoned it all with thrash. At the turn of the 90s, Eyehategod invented sludge metal that already sounded amazing on their debut album, In the Name of Suffering, and by amazing we of course mean absolutely vile. A dangerous yet excellent band that’s quick to come back to Mystic Festival – we’re more than happy, though, as we’ve already started to miss them.

Mystic Festival will take place in Gdansk, Poland at the Gdansk Shipyard on June 3rd through 6th, 2026.

Tickets are available now on the Mystic Festival homepage here
