Thrash Titans Overkill And Forbidden Added To Mystic Festival Line-Up
East Coast thrash pioneers took their name from a Motörhead track and their inspiration from both metal and punk. Their cover of The Subhumans’ “Fuck You” perfectly captures the essence of their live shows - uncompromising, raw, and driven by pure joy of playing. Decades may pass, but Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth’s gritty vocals and D.D. Verni’s crushing bass still sound like the living definition of thrash metal.
And, one of the Big Six of the Bay Area, masters of thrash that fuses imagination with technical precision. For years, Forbidden have been a breeding ground for talent – their members went on to play with heavyweights like Slayer, Machine Head, Testament, Exodus, and Nevermore. After a long hiatus, the band returned to the stage and will come to claim what’s theirs in Gdansk…
