Amorphis Premiere New Single & Music Video "Dancing Shadow" From Upcoming New Album "Borderland"

Finnish progressive metal outfit Amorphis have unveiled “Dancing Shadow” as the third single from their latest album, “Borderland.” The accompanying video was once again directed by Patric Ullaeus (Arch Enemy, The Haunted). The new album is set for release on September 26th via Reigning Phoenix Music, marking the band’s fifteenth studio album to date.

Providing some insight into the track, lead guitarist Esa Holopainen shared:

“The working title for ‘Dancing Shadow’ was ‘Disco Tiger.’ Musically it represents catchiness and hooks that have been familiar elements within our music for a long time. Sound-wise it came out pretty fresh and even modern. I bet this song will shake your legs on the dance floor – in a METAL disco, of course.”

Adds drummer/keyboardist Jan Rechberger:

“With ‘Dancing Shadow,’ we stepped into completely new territory. For a band with over three decades behind us, that kind of reinvention feels meaningful.”
