Boston-based metalcore outfit Great American Ghost have dropped a music video for their newly released cover of Deftones' track “Hole In The Earth.” Originally appearing as the lead single from Deftones’ 2006 album “Saturday Night Wrist,” the song has been reimagined through Great American Ghost’s aggressive lens.
The band recorded the cover with GRAMMY-winning producer Will Putney (Body Count, Fit For An Autopsy) and Steve Seid, while Chris Klumpp of LIMBS directed the accompanying music video, which was filmed at Ghost Hit Recording in West Springfield, MA.
Speaking on their decision to reinterpret the Deftones classic, Great American Ghost shared:
“‘Hole In The Earth‘ was our first and only choice when we decided to tackle a Deftones song. Not only is it our collective favorite by one of our biggest influences, but the subject matter really resonated with us at the time of recording. I’d encourage anyone listening to explore the story behind the song — and know that GAG was in a very similar place when we tracked this. We’re really proud of how it turned out.”
