SpiritWorld Premiere New Single & Music Video "Abilene Grime" From Upcoming New Album "Helldorado"
SpiritWorld’s third studio album, "Helldorado," is set to drop on March 21st via Century Media. Ahead of its release, the Las Vegas-based crossover outfit have unveiled a music video for the track "Abilene Grime," crafted by writer and director Todd Hailstone. The song dives into the band’s Western-inspired roots, infused with their signature heavy and aggressive sound.
Commenting on the new track, frontman and founder Stu Folsom shared:
“When I wrote the demo for ‘Abilene Grime,’ it felt like the album really found its identity and materialized out of the ethe. It twangs, it bangs and it has a sick video, directed by our dear friend Todd Hailstone, which we filmed in Las Vegas a few weeks ago. Enjoy, everybody!”
Regarding "Helldorado," SpiritWorld frontman Stu Folsom explained that this record marks a departure from the narrative established in his "Godlessness" book, which had served as the thematic backbone for the band’s first two albums. Instead, the new album takes its cues from a fresh literary project Folsom is currently developing.
Providing insight into the direction of "Helldorado," Folsom elaborated:
“This record, more so than the last two, I think you hear way more fearlessness and confidence in the choices. Things that were showing up as interludes have manifested into fully fleshed out pieces. At its heart, Helldorado is a punishing, unrelenting masterclass in crossover and hardcore thrash. But in a scene where every riff has been played before and every great band has thirty contemporary acolytes mining their catalog and doing worship albums, there is something in the strangeness of Helldorado that makes it endearing.”
“‘Godlessness‘ leaves off in a cliffhanger where all the surviving characters have managed to arrive at a villa in Mexico near where a rumored gateway to hell is said to exist. ‘Helldorado‘ is the first glimpse that fans will get into some of what is unfolding in the next novel that I am working on, that tells the story of what happens with these characters and the gates of hell.”
Several guest appearances are featured on the “Helldorado“, including Sgah’gahsowáh of Blackbraid & Zach Blair of Rise Against on “Oblivion” and Frederic Leclercq of Kreator on “Stigmata Scars“.
