H.I.M. & MSI Confirmed For Download Festival

Billboard magazine is reporting that H.I.M. and MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE are among the bands that have been confirmed for the first U.S. edition of the U.K.'s Download Festival, set for Oct. 8 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. Headlining the festival will be THE KILLERS, with MODEST MOUSE, the ARCADE FIRE and DOVES also on the bill.
Like the U.K. version of the event, which drew 150,000 people this year to London's Donnington Park, the U.S. edition will offer cutting-edge technology and media experiences.
Last year's festival, with LINKIN PARK, METALLICA, KORN, SUM 41 and IGGY POP on the bill, grossed $7.3 million, the 10th highest gross of the year, according to Billboard Boxscore.

-I THINK any tour could do without the Killers - despite what they claime, they AREN'T that good, and they AREN'T original. Despite what they think, NO ONE is trying to copy their sound. I would rather listen to the Bravery, because their singer can actually carry a tune, and because they don't write absolutey terrible songs like "All The Things That I've Done" (Guitar World's 100 Worst Riffs, here it comes!). Sorry Killer fans, but this is what i think of them.
-HIM is good, but I haven't heard of any of the other acts on this tour (except for the Killers, who I don't like at all), and therefore I wouldn't like to go to this tour.
-My Chemical Romance are just another whiny talentless emo band in my opinion. If you like them, keep listening to them and ignore my comment.

As to your emo comment Mr. Dood I think it is valid. I think that music suffers in the same way that literature does in that there is so many tales to tell. I suppose it is finding what resonates with you at a personal level. MCR more reminds me of being an adolescent (much like our friend Muda) and listening to it is a bit of a nostalgia-fest. I'm sad to say that I like Blink 182 for the same reason.
