According to papers obtained by the Tampa Bay Times, guitarist Pat O’Brien (Cannibal Corpse) was found to own roughly 50 shotguns - one of which was illegally sawed-off - 10 semiautomatic rifles - some of which were AK-47 styled variants - two Uzi-style guns and 20 handguns in his Northdale, FL home when it burned down past Monday, December 10th.

Fire marshals also discovered potential explosive devices in the house, along with two flame throwers. Thousands of rounds of ammunition were stored in the house as well.

According to the authorities, only the sawed-off shotgun violates the law. As reported earlier O’Brien was arrested after breaking into a neighbors house and refusing to leave their home.

Deana Mazurkiewicz - wife of O’Brien‘s Cannibal Corpse bandmate Paul Mazurkiewicz - launched a crowdfunding campaign for Pat O’Brien, asking “people not jump to conclusions until the full details of what occurred come out.”

All this article says to me is "Pat O'Brien was a gun collector".
"AK styled..." Okay. Want a super reliable rifle that can be pretty much destroyed and still function? Get an AK.
The only part I'd be worried about was the "explosive" device, honestly. Things could have gotten pretty bad if he'd have decided to use it during his "trip".
