Vincent "Vinnie Paul" Abbott (Pantera, HELLYEAH, Etc.) Dead At 54

It has been announced that drummer Vincent "Vinnie Paul" Abbott of Pantera, HELLYEAH and Damageplan fame has passed away at the age of 54. As of yet no cause of death has been revealed. His representatives have confirmed his passing to Billboard.com. A post on Pantera‘s Facebook reads:

“Vincent Paul Abbott aka Vinnie Paul has passed away.
Paul is best known for his work as the drummer in the bands
Pantera and Hellyeah.

No further details are available at this time.
The family requests you please respect their privacy during this time.”

Sad day indeed..... Thank you for the 7 excellent Pantera shows I saw. All 7 were kick a$$ shows that I will cherish till my last breath....

I was lucky to see Pantera in their prime. Twice in 1994 but initially supporting Megadeth at Manchester, UK back in October 1993. RIP
