Riftwalker Debuts Drum Play-Through Video "Engineer Their Consent" From Latest Album "Green & Black"
Canadian technical death/thrash metal trio Riftwalker debuts its drum play-through video for "Engineer Their Consent", taken from the band's latest album "Green & Black". The album is available digitally on Bandcamp, and on CD at the outfit's Big Cartel page. The video was filmed by Dean Lamb of Archspire, with audio recorded by Dylan Charles of Apprentice.

The song is good and the playing is OK, though the sound of the toms comes across as dull to my ears. But, the bass drum is my biggest gripe. Just a pet peeve of mine when drummers who trigger pack the bass drum full of blankets. Leaving the head loose doesn't help either. There is no acoustic sound coming out of that, so he might as well have used a trigger pad. Just another thing to go wrong live. The impact pad was pretty pointless as well. Align the placement with the beaters before you stick it on there. OK, I'll get off my whiny soapbox now. lmao
