Disturbed Are "In No Hurry To Release New CD"
Launch Radio Networks is reporting that it's been more than two-and-a-half years since DISTURBED released its last studio album, 2002's "Believe", and the band has taken its time to make its yet-to-be-titled third effort. But as the project nears completion, lead singer David Draiman told Launch that making the new album was not only a longer process, but a more difficult one. "The last one was a breeze," he said. "We were in and out of here in two and a half months. Now, 'cause there are more songs that we're tracking, because we're paying much more attention to each specific song, because we're, like, over-analyzing, hyper-analyzing, being hyper-critical about everything and just revising things, as long as we feel there's still some positive direction to be achieved, we keep on pushing it."
DISTURBED is currently in Chicago, putting the finishing touches on the new album at the studio of producer Johnny K.
The album features the recording debut of new bassist John Moyer, formerly of THE UNION UNDERGROUND. A late summer/early fall release is planned for the record with fall touring plans on the drawing board as well.

This band claimed on an interview I saw a while ago that the were the most unappreciated bands in the world, That they are the biggest undergrownd bands, F uck that, these p***ies suck ass. Underground, they are mainstream radio crap metal, no, hard rock, no crap. Underground, try just about everything from sweden and overseas, this is sadly underground and crap out more talent than disturbed could ever hope to have. Bands like this make me wonder what the hell America is thnking about when it comes to music, thank god for every swedish band, not to mention the Good US band, Killswitch, Trivium, God Forbid, Lamb of God, ....I know I forgot some but.....Disturbed is a Joke

Disturbed are a great band, and weithear you like it or not, Disturbed progressed with believe, The music sounds better, the lyrics make sense and its overall a great album just like the sickness, and as for them being on the radio, i agree with brokenwings13, i have never heard them on the radio ever!, and i listen to a lot of heavy stuff, and a lot of underground stuff, but i still love disturbed for there music, im not sure what there commercial status is but, who cares?, its all about the music and disturbeds music is good!

Broken, I live about 800 miles north of you, in Oklahoma. They played on a Wichita Falls pop station, 92.9 or something of the likes, so did Chevelle, and hell even Vermillion was on it. Also heard were : Destinys Child, Kelly Clarkson, Chingy, etc....
Dont get me wrong, I used to like Disturbed, but then they got big, and were on all the friggin time, and it annoys the hell out of me.
Andrew, work on that english son, Disturbed IS a great band.
Disturbed is also frequented on 94.1 Z94 of Lawton, which is a rock station, and 106.3 The Buzz. Which is the only good station around. Alot of bands I listen too dont get played on the radio at all, except for Altered State on Z94. He plays Slayer, Sepultura, Soulfly, LoG, Shadows Fall, KsE, and all kindsa other bands. But thats only for 2 hours every weekend :( .

I see. My rock station, 94.5 KFMX, www.kfmx.com if you want to check it out(go to the FMXTREME Page). Anyway, they have a radio program on Mondays called the FMXTREME, play every type of metal/rock/punk song and that's on for three hours.
I've listened to Disturbed since they've started, I still think they're good even though they've had some bad songs and some good songs. It's not really a question of commercial status either.

I agree, Disturbed is different then most bands in the new era lump. But I just get tired of hearing their songs. See Godsmack, Chevelle, Shinedown, etc... They all have a good song or two at first, but when you hear the songs consistantly, even the best of some music can get old. It just depends on the stations, and what they are willing to play.
That being said, Alice in Chains never gets old. :)

I Agree, Disturbed have some good songs and bad, but i prefare believe, and jesus christ Negatyve_One, this is a metal forum not english class, calm down. I will be interested in hearing this. And i have no patience at all!, and i agree with what you said, i liked a few songs by those bands you mentioned like godsmack, it got on my nerves hearing Godsmack songs in every popular action movie, they just got too much airplay, but i still havent seen that with disturbed (besides from queen of the damned)

#1 I have heard Disturbed on the radio, but never on a top 40 station.#2 It was always the 2 rock stations from this area usually at night after the mandatory METALLICA set on 103.3 the edge or on 97ROCK after they do their Led Zepplin block(assuming they still do.I don't really listen anymore.)That saide I think their a good band mainly due to their sound You alway's Know them as soon as you hear the first 2 or 3 chord's played.Every great band has that quality or atleast that's my humble oppinion.I liked the second album very much but like the last sevendust album.I felt it could have been heavier I hope that's what they have planed this time out.In closing Zaratan,Andrew & Negative_One I agree with you guy's about GodSmack.I loved I stand alone before people out side of my gym started buying the single because it was in their favorite Movie or Video game.I mean music is for people and we can't deny it to anyone but That was so f***ING ANOYING !!!!!
23. writes:
Yeah, thats just it. The majority will ruin any song. People buying the single. Are you that lame, you cant spend the extra 4 bucks on the WHOLE cd?
Three Days Grace is another prime example, but it was OVERLY obvious they were going to be big, because they write generic themes, that every "mallgoth", Manson one day, Sum 41 the next, and lest we not forget the Emo kiddies, can relate too. Thus over-populating it, and overstaying its welcome.
Its also, I believe the main reason Chevelle had so much sucess with "The Red".
On a side not, my favorite band is mudvayne, and im hearing Happy? on the radio alot. In a way I like it, helps the musician, helps the label, helps sales, thus making more music. BUT, I dont want it to be overdone, and turn into another radio song.
Like I said about being at the Subliminal Versus Tour. I went to see Devildriver, SF, and LoG. NOT slipknot. Before 2003 I wouldve p***ed myself to see them, but not now.
I sat in the audience as it was an arena show. To my Immediate left, was 2 kids, ages 10 (I asked) and their 40 year old mother. They played on their gameboys, no joke until Slipknot came on stage. They sung along too Prelude 3.0, then sat down while Surfacing was played. Duality, and Vermillion were played back to back 30 minutes into the set. After that, they left.
Right infront of me were 2 mall goth kiddies, who played on their cell phone until Slipknot came on, headbanged thru the more popular songs, and again sung alot thru Vermillion, Pulse of the Maggots, and Duality.
I stayed long enough to hear the Heretic Anthem, ( Sic ) and a few other older songs, then left Id say 30 minutes early, because the above mentioned made me sick.

Yes, AIC never gets old. That band is timeless, unfortunetly for them their own time ran out. Nirvana sucks.
I'm so sick of "I Stand Alone" By Godsmack I could take my sister's 20-gauge and shoot my stereo. That song is good, but they overplay it, not FMX, the other ones, I scarcley hear that song on FMX anymore.
I have Mandatory Metallica here too, what time is your's at?
Man it sucks that those kids probably made their mom pay ther $40 bucks a seat and then ignore it all and listen to two songs and leave! I'd stay and get my money's worth.

BTW I read the other comment about HSB. I love that band, and have for years, its good that they are now getting across the ocean to american waves really. Antigone, is probably their best album.
I didnt want to respond over there ( Nu-Metal is dead thread ) because this is the only pure, mature, music oriented debate ive ever seen on here. It was thuroughly enjoyed Ty :)

46. writes:
Brad, and Kmadd, thanx for proving that idiots still reigned supreme on this board.
Nu-Metal, dont be such a hypocrite, your telling other people not to voice their opinoins, on bands you like, then at the end you say "Korn #1" Well I dont like Korn, so keep your god damn opinoin about them, and any other radio friendly, teenie bopper band to yourself, for that matter, unplug your computer, unstick the caps-lock button and throw it out of your window.
47. writes:
its funny cuz this was a good thread full of good opinions and everybody was cool and then comes along brad and madk who pollute every thread with sh** talking stupidity. anyway, i think disturbed is hit or miss, i either like a song alot or not at all.
People were discussing the slipknot shows, i saw them last week in AZ, there were thousands of 8-12 year olds, nobody gave a sh** about shadows fall or lamb of god. i couldnt beleive it. i was there to see lamb of god far more than slipknot but nobody even showed them any energy, it was dissapointing. Plus someone needs to tell slipknot that thier 12 interludes from vol. 3 ALL SUCK and we dont want to hear them played over the loudspeaker during their any of their 300 breaks during their set. Every time i see slipknot they suck more and more ..... i love the music but they're losing me quickly.

See man, you sit behind a computer, and listen to what other people tell you is cool, then you follow along. Running your mouth, in a serious conversation is the way your entire life will be. Standing on the outside of the circle, wishing you were smart enough to talk about the subject on the inside.
Deadmetal, to feed a moron, moron food, it just makes them dumber and more likely to show off their negative scoring IQ.
But I completly agree. Our pit was terrible man, SF and LoG tried to get it going, but there wasnt enough people there interested. I just bought my Sounds of the Underground tickets for the show in Tulsa in which LoG headlines. The pit should be insane. I might switch over to the Dallas show depening on my work schedule though.
Maybe Ill see u there Broken ?

And I suppose you think Dark Tranquility is for mallgoths too ?
What a f***ing idiot. YOu think your hardcore because you listen to what ? Blind Guardian or some crap.
ITs just like black people who think they are hardcore for listening to 50 cent and not ja rule.
Your just another idiot with a computer and a closed mind.
