Former Nothingface/Skrape Members Speak Out

Band Photo: Nothingface (?)
SEVER, the new project from former NOTHINGFACE members Tom Maxwell (guitar), Tommy Sickles (drums), and Jerry Montano (bass), plus former SKRAPE frontman Billy Keeton, have been continuing to work on new material as of late and will soon be making their live debut. Here's what Maxwell recently had to say on the matter:
"...We've been doing nothing but writing and recording songs. Now that we've reached up toward 30 songs, we're going to be turning up the heat from now on. Jerry has one more tour to do with Danzig and will be back in time for rehearsals and our first show in March. Which btw is on March 21st at Fletchers in Baltimore w/ DFD."
The group, who were previously known as COLDWHITECHRIST, are not likely to continue using the name SEVER however and are thought to be deciding upon a new moniker for themselves.

Nothingface is one of my favorite all-time bands. I thought Skrape was pretty good, but since Nothingface is no more and Kingdom Of Snakes has completely changed their sound (I don't like it) and Matt Holt (one of the best singers metal has seen in years) is no longer in music as of this moment, I'm really counting on Tom and Tommy to make this a F**KING Awesome band.

ehhh.... i hope this would be better. skrape was too much of a zeromancer like gig, and nothingface was indeed talented, but kinda cheesy. "whos next, you in the black shirt n the bruised knees!" sounded like slipknot in EyELess "who the f*** r u f*** you, better cover up cuz u bled through!" too simple. i dont get why nu-metal focuses on fight lyrics and not actual singing. i also wanna know if "Skeletons" was a good cd. i have "Violence". maybe an opinion, hmm?

In response to Walpurgiss... Skeletons is an amazing album. It's musically brilliant and lyrically maturer than previous Nothingface albums. By far their best album yet, and one of my favorite albums of all time. Not quite as brutal over all as Violence but much more unique and diverse from track to track. A huge step forward for the band, in my opinion, and definitely a must have for anyone who was ever interested in Nothingface. Just don't listen to it if you are christian, catholic, patriotic or just plain sensitive.

Nothingface is by far the greatest band i've ever randomly stumbled across. i hope Tom brings this up. Tom Maxwell is so f***ing incredibly amazing at the guitar. and he's also got the coolest septum piercing i've yet to see. whether they keep the name Sever, or ColdWhiteChrist, or something completely different i'm sure this will be something amazing.

I found out about Nothingface like a lot of people probably have. Unexepectedly. That band just kicked f'in ass. Everything is brutal. Violence, Skeletons, Audio Guide. You can't go wrong with any of it.
I'm looking forward to hearing Sever. Maxwell rips everything on guitar so this should be good.

Good question...what happened to Matt? He is probably the best metal singer, with amazing vocals and a mind-blowing scream. It was incredibly saddening to hear about Nothingface's break-up, because I didn't get to see them live. Does anyone know when any of theese bands tour in Michigan? I'd really love to check them out if they're as good as Nothingface.

Before you talk sh** about Holt do a little homework. He's not doing any drugs except for weed and he was playing in the pop-punk group Kingdom of Snakes with Bill Gaal on vocalsbut left that project when people started to talk sh** about it. Plus he had a whole bunch of throat problems and TVT records basically sh** all over NF until they couldn't stand to continue so Matt Holt is just taking some well earned rest to recover from his throat problems and recovering from TVT's lack of support.

Wow! Its funny to read all of this drama that everyone assumes....... All i am going to say is that as an insider to NothingFace is, Matt did have an addiction problem BUT that does not mean he is a punk. Yea a lot of shows were cancled because Matts personal problems but he is still a good person at heart. By the way If any of you are in Maryland you should check out "SEVER" (Tommy Sickles, Tom Maxwell and members from Skrape and Danzig.) its at Fletchers in Balt MD on Monday March 21

Billy played me about 10 songs in his truck at a studio when we were in preproduction for the new ZEAL disc and I can guarantee that every song that heard was incredible!!! No Nickleback, radio, love songs here, just alot of foot in your face heavy metal. Blessed in Black as they are now known as will not let you down. I can't wait for this cd!!!! rock on....

This new band made up of former bands will probabley be better than Dark New Day, (ex-skrape, sevendust, doubledrive). Nothingface was pretty good, and they'll probabley be pretty heavy. Looking forward to hearing this sh**.
