Band Photo: All That Remains (?)

Phil Labonte, the singer of popular metalcore group All That Remains, recently retweeted an image depicting a Super Tuesday map insinuating that Ted Cruz is more Canadian than American and that Marco Rubio is a homosexual.

A closer look at @AR_Shitlord reveals that Labonte himself is a follower of the page despite his status as a public figure. Labonte's Twitter also shows him following notorious anti-Semite Pat Buchanan and Golden Dawn and Front Nationale apologist Internet Aristocrat.

Phil Labonte is no stranger to controversy, having publicly described the vocalist of Black Veil Brides as a "faggot," as well as Republican candidates who oppose privacy rights, claiming that, "I call everyone in my band a faggot" and Tweeting the hashtag #FeminismIsCancer. Just last year, he appeared on MSNBC to defend his use of homophobic slurs.

Edit: Phil Labonte Responded when asked for comment with, "It was a retweet. And I was funny."

Meh. People can have their own interests despite being "public figures", and regardless of whether or not you agree with their views. Trying to stir up controversy in the "metal world" doesn't have a history of working too well and this is a far cry from the Anselmo situation.

Drawing parallels like "Ooo, he follows a notorious anti-Semite" is question-begging (yes, in the true definition of the term) and disingenuous at best.

Lol @ Drum_Junkie. Actually I really don't see the issue on this one. If he had retweeted some of the actually racist stuff that particular page posts (and yeah, they do post some atrocious stuff) then I'd see the problem, but this one really isn't xenophobic at all, it's just a funny little meme about Super Tuesday winners that's probably the least offensive political thing I've seen this week.

Nice one, DJ.

Agreed. In a world of social media politics which has racist caricatures, outright lies and tasteless slander, calling a man born in Canada a Canadian is noteworthy, let alone offensive. I don't understand the Rubio gay connection but using the rainbow flag to represent him seems more like playground taunting than actual homophobia.

And people wonder why other people point and laugh at them. When someone has to cry about someone else saying f@ggot, it just shows their pansy feelings. I have 2 gay bosses and we joke about songs they call "gay" and bs like that. This country has been turned into toilet paper with all of this pc bs. Liberals, democrats, republicans are all just lap dogs for their masters who pay them to help destroy this country. So he called someone a f@ggot, woopity fkn doo. Oz- Please see link below for an explanation for the basis of the reference to Rubio being a homosexual. I do not care either way if he is a Peter Puffer, I made up my mind a long time ago that am voting for Ted Cruz in the primary but I guess Marco Rubio enjoys some rather interesting parties.

As far as the supposedly racism, just respect the first amendment. An American has a constitutional right to express oneself, get over it. Everytime commie Bernie Sanders or some racist La Raza of Black Lives Matter idiot speaks out about how all white people are evil or how the free market needs to be replaced with communism it offends me but I get over it because I respect our free society and the individual liberty that our the US constitution promotes and protects.
