Slipknot's Clown Admits Concern Over Crazed Fans

Known for their extreme live shows and equally extreme fans, Beat magazine asked Slipknot co-founder and percussionist Shawn Crahan (aka Clown) how the death of Dimebag Darrell Abbott has affected him and if he has ever been scared. "I'd be a liar if I didn't say I was concerned every day of my life, but I was concerned before that happened," he responded. "What am I supposed to do, quit? I represent them; I'm here to help them. Hopefully someone like myself can prevent something like that ever happening. Hopefully our fans want to talk, hopefully they want to work it out, hopefully they reach out. You have to understand that we live in a very severe world, okay, I wonder if people think about that when they think about Dimebag, I wonder if they think about how brutal this world is to people we don't even know. But because famous people and other people are victims, everyone does stop and pay attention a little bit."

cool BLACKDOG, i was too. i ran the security crew at the DIAMONDBACK ASYLUM CONCERT CLUB, and i was also stage manager/ sound mixer for the many concerts we had there. including WARRANT, RATT, L.A.GUNS, FIREHOUSE, DOKKEN, ROBBIE KRIEGER, AMERICAN HEADCHARGE, HANK WILLIAMS THE THIRD (death metal, believe it or not), FEAR NO EVIL, DAVID ALLEN COE, QUITE RIOT, and many others. the kids now days just don't know how much the older guys do rock, and we never had anybody shot at any of our concerts, if they acted up, we kicked thier as*es ouyt the door with extreme pain and prejudice. the world we live in these days is just sad and ruled by fear. i'll say it once again. FU*K FEAR!!! HIMMM!!!!

The mask thing isn't about how they look. It's about an opening from this piece of sh** world we live in, into expressing their view of thing which are very similar to all the Slipknot fans out there. People = sh**, f***ER. Another answer for the " wtf is the masks now?". People like you judge bands on how they dress and how good they look so you can dress like them. Slipknot doesn't give three sh**s about fashion or people who judge others on how they are physially. It's all about the music and a sense of style.
