ProgPower USA promoters Glenn Harveston, Milton Mendonca and Nathan Block have announced that Germany's Blind Guardian has been named the headline act for Day 2 of ProgPower USA XVII on Thursday, September 8, 2015, joining the previously confirmed Day 2 acts: Pyramaze, Gloryhammer and Circus Maximus.

As for Day 1 (Wednesday, September 7, 2015), the lineup is anchored by DragonForce along with Lord, Stream of Passion and Spock's Beard.

Tickets for Days 1/2 go on sale on Saturday, December 5, 2015 via Ticketmaster.

The final lineup for Day 1/2 is:

Wednesday (September 7, 2016):

Lord (Australia)
Stream of Passion (Netherlands)
Spock's Beard (USA)
DragonForce (UK) (headliner)

Thursday (Promoter's Pick Night) (September 8, 2016):

Pyramaze (Denmark)
Gloryhammer (Switzerland & Scotland)
Circus Maximus (Norway)
Blind Guardian (Germany) (headliner)

To recap, in 2016, ProgPower USA will move from the old "Midweek Mayhem" (Wed) and "Kick Off Show" (Thursday) model to the new ProgPower Days 1-4 format with Wednesday (Day 1), a joint promotion of Mendonca/Block, and Thursday (Day 2) showcasing one band picked by each of the promoters along with a "People's Choice" band. All four days will now be held at Center's Stage's main venue.

The lineup for Days 3-4 (September 9-10, 2016) was announced the Friday of this past ProgPower USA XVI following Anathema's performance (see information at this location). When tickets went on sale October 3rd...it sold out in just about nine hours!
