Bush Re-Election Provides More Fuel For System Of A Down

Band Photo: System Of A Down (?)
System of a Down's Daron Malakian reacted to the re-election of George Bush in an interview with Spin. "To me it's even better that Bush is in office," Malakian reasoned. "That's more fuel. I think it gives us more of a platform than if he wasn't. We're not moving to Canada, as much as I love hockey."

true.
But i don't think i would be able to listen to this record. not because i lean to the right, it's because they've taken such a stance. they have to be so loud about an election and politics that they've been placed in the same catergory as barbara streisand and micheal moore.

He obviously was being sarcastic, did any of you who disagree with him ever go to school?? Do you know what sarcasm is....go move to canada?? Do us a favor, don't come here, we don't want you and your racist redneck demented ideologies, unless of course your gonna assasinate that little hitler that got re-elected, then i will welcome you with open arms.

f*** all u a$$holes that said anything bad about System of a Down. Just because they do songs about their political beliefs doesn’t mean they are a bad band. Look at Lamb of God they do political songs against bush and they kick ass. Just wait till SOAD comes out with their CDs. You will see what a REAL band can do.

wow real american of you "i don't want to hear their political beliefs. i want to hear their music." i guess hearing dissenting opinions hurts your brain?? what kind of a retard says something like that? would u say that about sixties bands? "there against vietnam so i guess ill deprive myself of the music????" Just cuz a band dont agree with your politics in their music is no reason to knock em. or call em "not a real band". Not a real band wtf ? WAKE THE f*** UP U STUPID AMERICAN BASTARD THE WORLD IS POPULATED BY A LOT OF PEOPLE-MANY OF WHOM DISAGREE WITH U!!!! EVEN HALF YOUR COUNTRY MEN DISAGREE . DEMOCRACY MEANS U CAN SAY WHAT U WANT!!!! you all are just posting here to vent your seething political frustrations....conservative and liberal alike......it's like you cant even believe someone would hold different views than your own...grow up. system of a down hate the bush administration, good for them, i dont hold so much hate for bush or his team but i dont love em either, they've made some "major" errors that history books will make note of things people dont popularly know, it deserves to be commented on. i can also say i wouldnt want a liberal who is as radical a democrat as bush is a radical conservative. that too would be scary. so everyone get used to eachothers opposing views cus i dont you or i or soad or bush or republican and democrats in general are changing anytime soon.

lots of red state folks post here, surprised....metal has so many social/political conservative fans considering the genre was made by libs for libsback in the day. to each their own i guess
but our solidier and the citizenry of iraq sure are getting slaughtered. look at those numbers, it reads like a slot machine in the news paper cus we dont actually get to see the screaming wounded and the crying childrem...
cus one man had to even the score daddy couldnt finish....i think bush once said his presidency...and im only quoting this word for word..."would not be about nation building"...thats just a flip-flop though...everyone changes their mind sometimes right?!?!??...and if u do your research bush has flip floped on alot of welfare, environmental , AND business economics....other republicans are "TRYING TO STOP HIM" from destroying social security...is that not a hint that maybe somethings wrong...
Heh, but what do i know? i probably just need to pick up a bible, protest abortion clinics so rape victems cant control their own lives and raise the child of their assailent, throw rocks at queers, and take the word of a president who has lied to us more than ANY president since Nixon...thats putting on the blinders folks, and following whichever politcal allignment that is popular with your mom and dad.

Hmm, alright i accept some of LETSINVAD's case,i t is true, but uhmm..well, my post name pretty much says it all. Wasnt this about the music, who cares what side anyone is on the SOAD thing? So fuccking what? Your opinion only goes so far. Backed up by facts or not. People debate this (*@& on CNN and that war is fun FOX news and noone gets anywhere. But I guess dropping it is out of the question.

Morningstar: if you hate System so much, why post here? This isnt a real discussion, its people sniping back and forth and ignoring any points the other side makes. You said something smart in your first post in this, and then turned whiny as hell. And, for those of you who seem to think it impossible, I was a conservative for a long time before i stopped and looked at the facts. Now i understand what is going on in the world, and I am willing to accept that my side isn't infallible. I have been a big fan of System, even when my political views were different. Morningstar, you say they base their music on their hate? Um, no. Its merely subject matter. Just because they did a song about a girl using you as a pogo stick doesnt mean they go out every night and nail every girl in sight. Politics arent their schtick, its just something they say their part in. Dont confuse the two, or you are not arguing the same thing as the others.

SOAD should stop worrying about bush and start worrying about their piece of sh*t band and honestly....if bush and america are that bad go the f*ck home to armenia or wherever the f*ck u came from........TO SOAD....STOP TAKING TIME AWAY FROM BETTER BANDS ............AND GO AWAY DAMNIT!!!!
41. writes:
If Bush and America are that bad, then something should be done about it, you shouldnt just leave. If we stop worrying about Bush, then we're f***ed. If we don't keep a close eye on that man, he's likely to do something very, very stupid. Go home to Armenia? Just because you disagree with their opinions and want them to keep their mouths shut? Are you going to tell me to move to Canada next because I support SOAD and want to hear what they have to say? System of a Down are one of the better bands, and you are not going to be able to do much about it.

"they base it on a subject from which they feul hate moron."
Really? That's interesting, being that it's wrong. The music isn't politcally based, the politics are only a part of it. Your last reply ignores that and plays at the idea that they only have the band to make a political statement, which is a flat-out lie. System themselves don't call themselves political, and you presume to tell them they are wrong? Or you think they are just denying it? What good would that do them? They don't care if they are controversial or not, so saying they aren't political for that reason doesn't work. What excuse do you believe they have in saying it?
You keep confusing the part for the whole. Or you refuse to accept their is a difference. You also ignored the other question: why post here if you hate System?
brokenwings, that is true. Most of the United States' registered voters are Democratic, so theoretically a Democrat should always win. Of course, this doesn't happen, because of different reasons. With the most recent election (and you could even go as far as to say the 2000 election as well), Bush wasn't running against a strong opponent. Gore and Kerry both are considered boring, and Kerry has leftist ideals, which hurt him with all the current events. Given a different Democratic candidate, Bush would probably not be in office at this moment.

I like system but if they base their fuel on that criminal getting re-elected than they need to rethink their approach on being a politicly conscience band
