Forsaken Keyboardist Leaves
Maltese doomsters Forsaken have posted the following update:
"Regrettably, it is being announced that after more than 6 years of association, Forsaken and Mario Ellul, the band's keyboardist since 1998, have parted company. The decision matured due to difficulties in securing a band rehearsal schedule which did not conflict with Mario's commitments with his main band Weeping Silence. While wishing Mario all the very best for his future musical endeavours, Forsaken would like to express their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Mario for his significant contribution to the band throughout these past six years.
Meanwhile, Forsaken also announce that they have no plans to replace Mario at this early stage and it is anticipated that keyboard duties for the band's next studio album will be handled by present band members. Conversely, however, it is not being excluded that another full-time keyboardist is recruited following the release of the band's much anticipated forthcoming studio album to be released by Golden Lake Productions (Scotland) in 2005.
Forsaken fans will be pleased to note that the band's plans to re-release their 1996 debut album 'Evermore' shall reach fruition shortly. Golden Lake are set to release a re-mastered version of the album in limited digi-pack format with new cover artwork within the next few weeks. The album will also feature the band's 'Neon Knights' cover which originally appeared in the 'Dehumanized Witch - Black Sabbath Mark II Dio-era tribute' released by Mid-West Metal (USA) in 2000.
Vinyl releases of Forsaken's recent 'Anima Mundi' album (2004) and 2002's 'Iconoclast' MCD licensed to Germany's Immortal Vinyl Records are also well underway. The German label intends to issue a DLP with all the tracks from both albums.
In closing, Forsaken would like to bring to the attention of all doom-metal enthusiasts a new doom compilation titled 'A Dark World' released by Belgium's Final Chapter Records. Apart from Forsaken's 'Carpe Diem' (one of the standout tracks on 'Anima Mundi'), the compilation features the very best of the current international doom metal scene including Mirror of Deception (Germany), Gates of Slumber (USA), Thee Plague of Gentlemen (Belgium), Semlah (Sweden) and Northwinds (France)."
