My, what maturity.Slipknot just got bored with the music they were doing in the past, you can dog them for wanting to seek new directions.I certainly wouldnt have liked this album if it were a recycled Iowa with half the hunger and passion.Now that Ross Robinson is gone, Slipknot got to go back to the multi-dimension band they were prior to him.The 1 dimension they had could only take them so far.

other than other new metal bands is because I loved their imagery and their music on the self titled and
Iowa. And doing solos now? It doesn't match their prior work at all. I don't if its maturity or just
plainly getting older but I believe Corey's involvement with that horrible cokk rock band( I know he was
in that band before Slipknot with Jim) really change the sound of Slipknot. I hope they put one more
album with an heavier direction. Im ready for the dissing and the boos!!!!

Slipknot is f***ing awesome i dont see why youre ragging on them b/c of the new album. It shows their damn talent which they have a lot of. Hell they even started to do guitar solos and there f***ing amazing sounding I think they have taken a hell of a step (in a good way) in the metal genre. They still play f***ing amazing show and go balls out to please everyone in every possiible way. Its a shame that you rag on the s*** they do when they are doing it for you.

Listen to the "Crowz" Demos from 97 that they made when Corey first joined the band.They are closer to Vol.3 than they are to s/t and Iowa.It was Ross Robinson that made them the band you hear on both those albums.This 3rd album would have never left the shadow of s/t and Iowa had it been just like them.After all the record sales and money, they still had enough musical integrity to spend 6 months in the studio writing 30 songs.Why?Because new directions brought new reason for them to make a new album.A band bored with the music they are should not be making music any longer.Thats when bands become stale and start sucking.This was Slipknots only saving grace, and they did infact make their best album to date.Regardless of the direction.

by the way peoples, it's called developing as an artist. whether it's a good
development or a bad one is not up to you or me. we just have to sit back
and say "i'm just not going to listen to that because i don't like the way it
sounds" or "hey this sounds cool" and turn your radio up to unsightly levels
of volume.

You people that diss the band, your so blind, so f***ing stupid and obsesed with one thing u can't get over yourselves, take the instruments and make something better than you'll have the balls and there rights to say that they suck, otherwise don't waste your time writing insults about a band that sounds a hell lot better than you would if you ever got on stage. as for KMADD's comment on Tool and APC your a f***ing moron cuz if you can write music that has so much or more meaning and it will be as good sically or better than it is, then i'll be able to listen to you talking sh** about them, Slipknot did an awesome job on this cd and if anyone thinks they are selling out, then you might as well start listening to britney spears or something like that cuz that's where you belong, and one more thing "eyeless" if you worshiped those cds it only shows one thing, your extremely dumb and blind cuz musicians don't write music for people to worship it, they write it to inspire and show people what they believe music can be.

in the vocal styles. Just like Mudvayne's first album. Although their 3rd album was a lot better. (Mudvayne) If I wanted to hear ballads from a Metal band. I would listen to nightwish. Plus I heard
better solos on Motley Crue records you douchetard.
