About
I can't remember a time in my life in which music hasn't been a major presence. My grandmother once told me that when I was about 2 I was playing with a toy car on her floor as she listened to the radio. A particular song, a sad song, came on, and she said she watched as I stopped playing, and tears starting falling on to my little car; the song finished, and off I went again as if nothing had happened.
The car, like my grandmother, is long gone, but music continues to move me like that: to rage, to rapture, and occasionally still to tears (A Perfect Circle's Three Libras).
I don't really care what music you're into as long as you're into it with a passion. Mine include:
Alchemist
At The Gates
Big Black
The Birthday Party
Blotted Science
Brain Drill
Cannibal Corpse
Carcass
Celtic Frost
Chimaira
The Clash
Cradle Of Filth

That's not to mention classic prog and Frank Zappa ... but that's for another forum.
When I'm not seeing a band or listening to music, I read (mostly Iain M Banks' Culture series); watch a bit of tele (Entourage, The Wire, Weeds, Seinfeld) and do a bit of taekwondo.
I have learnt two things in life:
1. No matter how much crap is out there on radio, in pubs and in nightclubs, good music does exist. It just takes a bit of finding.
2. You are never too old to rock. I'm 51. I know.
