Todd Wels is an award-winning journalist residing in Grants Pass Oregon. He is the author of the recently concluded pop culture column "Critical Condition," and has also won recognition by the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association for his Web documentary "To Serve And Protect."
A metalhead from way back in his teenage years, he's particularly partial to the sounds of such "mainstream" acts as Metallica, AC/DC, Black Label Society, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Led Zeppelin and the Foo Fighters. On the slightly less-well-known side, he's partial to Italian death metalers Disarmonia Mundi, prog-rockers Artizan and power metal act Astral Doors.
